Today I spoke with the Lebanon FM @YoussefRaggi and expressed my deep concern about yesterday’s attacks on Lebanon and assured him of Ireland’s continued commitment to Lebanon and UNIFIL.

Ireland is a democracy in which people have the right to peaceful protest. These protests have gone too far. Critical infrastructure cannot be held to ransom. This is a democratic country and the elected Government continues to engage with representative organisations.

The blocking of the distribution of fuel is a sinister and despicable attack on our economy and our society. This is not a lawless country. The laws of the land must and will be applied without fear.

@Symply_rhoda1 Stage 4 cancer often shows very subtle or no symptoms early on. People ignore minor signs, or the body hides them, and by the time serious symptoms appear, it’s already advanced. Regular check-ups and paying attention to unusual changes can save lives

Enoch Burke@EnochBurke

BREAKING: Enoch Burke’s mother and sister arrested and jailed Martina and Ammi Burke were arrested by Gardaí today at Castlerea Prison after visiting jailed schoolteacher Enoch Burke, their son and brother. Judge Brian Cregan sentenced them to two weeks in prison after they spoke out against his lies and unlawful actions in the case of Enoch Burke. Martina and Ammi Burke had been teaching in Castlebar this morning before travelling to Castlerea for their scheduled visit at 2.15pm. As they left the prison after concluding the visit, Gardaí were waiting outside to arrest them. Lies have been told from the bench since September 2022 when Enoch Burke was first taken from his teaching post at Wilson’s Hospital School and thrown into a jail cell. He refused to call a student by a new name and the “they” pronoun. He was subsequently suspended and has now spent over 600 days in prison. Ireland’s church leaders have maintained a treacherous silence on this issue. Archbishops Eamon Martin and John McDowell speak frequently about battlefields far away - Gaza, Ukraine, the Middle East - but are silent on the battlefields in the schools of Ireland, on their own doorstep. Children in the classroom are being educated in every form of sexual perversion. Martina and Ammi Burke have now been sent to Mountjoy Women’s Prison because they refused to be silent in the face of gross injustice from the bench. Parents, rise up and speak out for your sons and your daughters.

Surely this Tweet from Gript Fatima Gunning is not the only report across Irish media of this conviction today? Taxpayer has just shelled out €15m to private media companies (not Gript), with a large dollop of that for court reporting.

I was, and still am, a big Sandie Shaw fan. I bought this album in 1967. Sandie represented Britain and won the Eurovision that year, the first time Britain secured victory. The song she performed, 'Puppet In A String,' is on the album. That's why she's on the cover with a Union Jack flag. She represented Britain, won, and proudly displayed the flag. There is nothing racist about it at all.

This (see below) happened in Ireland. Ireland has experienced a surge in immigration from poor countries that are culturally very different. Most of those immigrants just want a better life. But some hold values that are incompatible with the West - including a deep disrespect for women. Here’s the pattern: 1. Country allows mass migration. 2. Culturally incompatible people are let in without scrutiny. 3. Conflict with the local population increases over resources and culture. 4. Locals who raise concerns are demonized as racist rather than engaged in good faith. 5. Media withholds the ethnicity of attackers to avoid appearing racist. 6. Commentators frame violence against women as a “men” problem - rather than a problem with a specific subset of men, from specific places, who were let in without proper vetting. Dear women: we love you and are trying to protect you.
Sarah Vine@WestminsterWAG

More and more, I start to think Germaine Greer was right: women have no idea how much men hate them.
