The Pokémon League must have known that Giovanni is Team Rocket’s lead for years and they’ve been protecting him the whole time. Here's a theory: • The Smoking Gun: Giovanni is the official Viridian Gym Leader, the strongest one in Kanto. The League literally employs him, pays him, and lets him hand out the final badge to every kid who walks in. • The Timeline: While Team Rocket is stealing Pokémon, experimenting on Mewtwo, and taking over Silph Co. in broad daylight, the Elite Four and Champion do… nothing. No raids. No investigations. Zero questions about why their 8th Gym Leader keeps disappearing for “business trips.” • The Cover-Up: After a 10-year-old finally does their job and defeats him at the Viridian Gym, Giovanni simply walks away. The League doesn’t launch a manhunt, freeze his assets, or start a public inquiry. They just let him vanish, and quietly hand his empty Gym over to a teenager to sweep the entire scandal under the rug. • The Real Motive: Giovanni is one of the richest men in Kanto. He funds half the region’s infrastructure, research, and even the League itself. Shutting him down would crash the economy. If it’s true that “Timeless” Toni Storm is out for the rest of 2026, then AEW has a massive hole to fill and there’s one name that immediately comes to mind: Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Tony Khan has been saying she’s coming back and it’s just a matter of timing. The division would instantly benefit from her presence, especially with a top star like Toni potentially sidelined. Because if she’s not brought back now, people are going to start drawing the conclusion that she’s being kept off TV because she wants to go to WWE. Either use her when the division clearly needs her, or let her go. It's really that simple, Tony Khan.
