@HicksLibrarian A3: We use the Red Reactive Circles less than the others because I do not want circles to become "therapy". We only use them when I see behaviors trending in a certain direction and impacting multiple students. I don't ever want to single anyone out. #HicksES #LISDchat

@HicksLibrarian A2: We focus heavily on SEL Circles as it is my way of measuring how my young students feel about certain topics without singling them out. They are a little more difficult for my kids as they have a hard time finding words to measure feelings at times. #HicksES #LISDchat

A1: GTKY are my kids' favorite. I teach Kindergarten and these shallow questions are engaging and easy to answer for even my most hesitant student. We still use them as my kids never grow tired of learning new things about their friends. #lisdchat #HicksES

@HicksElementary A3: I typically use shallow questions. I have tried to go deeper and many of my kids choose not to share when I do this. I believe it is their age. What do you think is your best quality? I like starting our circle on a positive note #LISDchat #HicksES

Q3: Crafting Questions strategically implies a goal you'd like to achieve in your circle (Whalen, 52). Give ex: questions you might use and rate it as shallow/mid/deep. Read others' answers and share how that might be useful in your circle. #LISDchat #HicksES

@HicksElementary A2: I agree that guidelines need to be reviewed each time. I plan to have the kids act out what is appropriate and what is not and have their peers respond with a thumbs up or down #LISDchat #HicksES

Q2: Last week, one concern was about establishing the guidelines and affirming correct circle behaviors. After reading p. 48-9, what method might you try in your next circle? #HicksES #LISDchat

@HicksLibrarian A1: The idea of using centerpieces in Circles makes us relatable to the kids. I allow students to bring in a item from home (think Show and Tell). This keeps our circles fun and dynamic #LISDchat #HicksES

@KendraWilson711 @HicksLibrarian The talking stick is a good visual reminder for my kindergarteners that they have to wait their turn to speak and not interrupt. The kids also love to see what silly thing I have come up with to be our "talking stick" each Circle. #LISDchat #HicksES

@kikih44 @HicksLibrarian Love the students being in control but just wondering if everyone uses a talking stick? One of our facilitators said it was not a "non negotiable." I've found that it flows better without passing something but just wondering?

@HicksLibrarian A3: Being mindful of the type of Circle you implement can help build relationships with each and every one of our students. The categories described on page 10 will come in handy! #LISDchat #HicksES

@HicksLibrarian I am really interested in student-led circles. This is not something I had considered letting my students lead but after reading this particular chapter, I plan to try this in our Circles. #HicksES #LISDchat

@committedgirls if you can't fulfill orders then be honest and let people know. You just took money with nothing. What a joke.

@committedgirls any response would work. At this point you basically stole money from me. A very dishonest business person.

@committedgirls you have time to block people on twitter and Instagram that gave you money for rings and you don't respond?
