In this conversation, @garytaubes argues that much of modern nutrition science is built on weak, self-reinforcing assumptions—especially the idea that obesity is caused by overeating. He describes this as circular reasoning: weight gain is taken as proof of excess calorie intake, rather than something that needs to be explained. Because nutrition studies are difficult to tightly control, these assumptions often go untested, allowing flawed ideas to persist. Taubes also highlights how funding, incentives, and institutional bias shape which hypotheses get studied and which are ignored. Earlier research that focused on metabolic regulation—particularly the role of hormones like insulin—was largely sidelined in favor of simpler calorie-based explanations. From this perspective, obesity and metabolic disease may be driven less by conscious overeating and more by how the body partitions and uses energy, with appetite and intake acting as downstream effects. youtube.com/watch?v=FP_MTX…

You should be able to read your own bloodwork. Not wait 2 weeks for a 7-minute appointment, to get told “everything looks normal” with no explanation. Your health data should belong to you.

On January 6, 2009, Coach Glassman delivered a presentation at the National War College at National Defense University, speaking to an audience of more than 100 current and future leaders of the U.S. military. A safe and effective program follows a strict progression: athletes must first learn proper movement mechanics, then develop consistency, and only afterward increase intensity. Because high-intensity training can be dangerous when performed incorrectly, spending time practicing movements before adding speed or competitive pressure is essential. Today, Greg's mission in service to trainers continues in his work with MetFix. The MetFix Foundations course is nutrition education developed to equip coaches with the knowledge and tools to reverse chronic disease and optimize human performance. Check out the culmination of Greg's life's work at a MetFix Foundations seminar. Learn more at metfix.org. Full video available on YouTube.

Great conversation with @joerogan thank you for having me on again. Back on the show talking peptides, broken healthcare, and why the future looks very different from the system we have today. The system manages sickness… the future creates health.
