BREAKING: Pistons F Ausar Thompson has been named the NBA Defensive Player of the Month for the 2nd time this season 🏆

The NBA announced today that @DetroitPistons forward Ausar Thompson was named Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Month for games played in March.   Thompson (6-7, 205) recorded 32 steals in March, 2.5 per game, and recorded a career-high seven steals in a win vs. Golden State on March 20. Thompson recorded three-or-more steals in six of 13 games played in the month, led the team with a 101.6 defensive rating, and led the Eastern Conference with 46 stocks (STL+BLK) in the month in the month of March.   Thompson, 23, ranks first in the NBA this season with a career-high 2.01 steals per game and 4.4 deflections per game.   Earlier this season, Thompson became one of just four players in NBA history to record at least 1,040 rebounds, 420 assists, 275 steals and 145 blocks within the first 180 games of a career.
