How Long Will It Take A-Network to Mine All 21 Million ANET?
A simple, realistic look based on the whitepaper and current stats (May 2026).
Current numbers (from the app):
- Total registered Ants:
76,129
- Verified sessions so far: 1,069,772
- Current reward: 0.002621 ANET per 6 hour session (Stage 0, after the first halving)
- 9 more halvings still to come
Total supply = exactly 21,000,000 ANET (hard cap forever).
Simple projection (using whitepaper math):
The network still needs roughly 246 billion more sessions to reach the full 21 million ANET cap.
Here’s what that means in real time:
- If the network stays at current pace (~35,000 sessions per day):
It would take hundreds of years, basically never in our lifetime.
- If it grows to 1 million active miners (each doing an average of 2 sessions per day = 2 million sessions/day):
Still over 300 years.
- Whitepaper’s optimistic example (10 million active users doing 4 sessions/day = 40 million sessions/day):
≈ 17 years to finish mining the entire 21 million ANET.
The halving mechanism (every 3.8 billion post launch sessions) is designed to slow issuance gradually, exactly like Bitcoin. More miners = faster halvings = shorter overall timeline.
A-Network is intentionally built as a long term project. Mining all 21 million coins is expected to take 10–20+ years under realistic growth, not months.
That’s the point...early consistent miners get the biggest share, while the network grows slowly and fairly over time.
Your daily 6 hour sessions today are helping build the foundation, not rushing to the finish line.

When you complete a 6 hour Ant Work session, something happens that most participants don't fully appreciate.
That session gets recorded.

On a ledger, designed to migrate with you from the app today, to Layer 1 tomorrow, to whatever the ecosystem becomes after that.

Think About What That Actually Means
In most systems, your contribution disappears the moment you stop.
