Was the future of the Poll Dorset breed born tonight? 200262 was joined to Valma “Lyell” ($41k) and had triplets! The same joining last year produced high marbling genetics +0.59 for IMF as well as a large eye muscle (+3.88). To visualise, think wagyu marbling in a lamb chop.

I had to have a second glance at this White Suffolk ram lamb’s tail, I thought a crow had eaten part of the tail. Luckily, he and his twin sister just have a short tail. Will be interesting to follow the tail growth.

Good, bad, or somewhere in the middle. Expected slightly higher percentage given weight at joining, but probably pretty standard for us with single sire and ram lambs.

@RohanHull No idea, the scanner didn’t turn up so no objective measurement class. Will weigh him when he is back on farm.

Great result today at the Sydney Royal Show - Champion White Suffolk Ram to Kinellar 220148, son of the high marbling 200281! Going to have a good lamb roast to celebrate 😆

Have to say that I am enjoying gallagher APS+, moving our records into the cloud. I can have quick access to animal history in the paddock, this ewe (as suspected) has stolen a lamb.
