An extract from a conversation I recently had in Washington, D.C., discussing the brutality of farm murders in South Africa.

A grandfather, grandmother, their two daughters, a son-in-law, and two young grandchildren were evicted a few weeks ago after they could no longer afford the rent. With nowhere to go, they were left homeless forced to spend two weeks on the streets, facing cold nights, uncertainty, and the daily struggle of finding safety and food. Through it all, they stayed together as a family, holding on and supporting one another. Their situation highlights the harsh reality many families face, but also the strength it takes to endure it.

🚨 ALERT: The Trump-Vance administration has dropped a bombshell on America’s enemies, announced that “No more taxpayer dollars for hostile nations that hate America. If you vote against us at the UN, chant ‘Death to America,’or fund anti-American NGOs, you’re cut off. Period.”

🇿🇦 South African President Cyril Ramaphosa says that the country will not abandon its DEI policies, known as “Black Economic Empowerment (BEE).” “Those who say BEE and affirmative action must stop are just dreaming,” he said. South Africa has strict laws that mandate race-based hiring practices. A new law called the Employment Equity Amendment Act sets hiring targets for 2025–2030 across 18 economic sectors. Some workforce targets aim for 90–96% of employees to come from designated groups, which include Black people, women, and people with disabilities (minimum 3%). That means that if a company has more than 5% white men, it could face penalties of up to 10% of its income.

Why is it a good thing that the government is taking, by force, a record amount of money from hard-working South Africans?

Julius Malema claims that during his meeting with General Mkhwanazi, the senior police officer spoke negatively about both the National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, and Police Minister Bheki Cele. According to Malema, General Mkhwanazi alleged that General Masemola lacks basic administrative skills, stating that he does not even know how to type or send an email. Malema further claims that Mkhwanazi said he deliberately chose not to publicise developments in the AKA Forbes case, fearing that Police Minister Bheki Cele might interfere and potentially compromise the investigation.
