Following my tweet expressing my disappointment in the unavailability of my fave local trad brew Indlovu AKA Lotion AKA Cream taa taa during my recent visit to Skies @CityofBulawayo I would like to say a big thank you to @Ingwebuzw for their response which came via my TikTok DM and hadn't seen it until now. Here's wishing you the best in overcoming the production challenges you are facing. Cheers .

I am very disappointed in not getting my fave local trad brew Indlovu aka Lotion AKA Calabash brewed by @CityofBulawayo giants @Ingwebuzw . I have been to @PicknPay Northend, Zonkizizwe and other smaller grocery shops to no avail. Every year when I land in #Skies I score at least 2 “crates” to take back to Harare to share with Sekuru Manu and his fellow Garden techs including Peter Kazado who work along my street. It is creamier and easier on the palate and goes down well when nicely chilled. Have @Ingwebuzw gone out of business ,or? As I said in 2024. Indlovu Beer is way ahead of all the brands I’ve taste tested including Chibuku, and Nyati. Oh ,and whatever happened to Pungwe ,Go Beer ,Simba and Rufaro Mhamba brewed in @CityofMutare ,@GweruC ,@KwekweCouncil and @cityofharare2 respectively? I did ask my friend @JMafume about Rufaro Breweries in 2023 and I remember him telling me plans were in the pipeline to revive council beer halls which, back in the day generated much needed revenue for the city council. If you know where I can get Indlovu ,please holla ,I don’t have much time left in Skies. 📸File Photos jhi images 2023/24

At the end of the day Indlovu traditional beer, brewed by Bulawayo giant INGWEBU Breweries takes the calabash! 💥👏🏽 It is smoother, creamier and “lighter” on the palate than its two rivals @NyathiBeer and Chibuku Super and the packaging is supa dupa! It goes down when nicely chilled 😎. Hey wena @Ingwebuzw ,why aren’t you distributing Indlovu nationwide ? What’s the problem? I ,as the self appointed spokesperson for the Njanja Drinkers’ Association demand you carry out a trial run and deliver to Sadza Growth Point. If you want an agent just holla and we will make a plan. Oh! By the way, what happened to Rufaro Mhamba ? When I spoke to the Mayor of Harare @JMafume during my recent visit home he assured me that the @cohsunshinecity owned Rufaro Breweries was operational ,but I didn’t see any Rufaro brews in the bottle stores and supermarkets! Your marketing department @JMafume is dossing 😴 on the job! And to the mayor of @GweruCityPR Gweru, @MartinChivhoko how far have you gone with the talks you said you were having with an unnamed investor to revive your Council’s Go Beer Brewery? Hazvidi hopé zvinhu izvi,Meya! @CityofBulawayo

I had an Uncle visit us from Zimbabwe. He says we should never ever think of relocating back to Zimbabwe. He is the third relative who has said this. We will die in exile it seems😢

There is something not quite right about this combo. Spinach in peanut butter does not belong on the same plate as tripe/guru. You seem to be “saladising” a traditional dish ,the flavours will definitely clash! I am not saying anything about dem mopani worms, overrated and tasteless. I say! 3/10 @TeamFuloZim

Home will always be home. Zimbabwe will always call us back, and many of us genuinely want to return, invest, build, and contribute. But for that to happen at scale, the environment has to feel predictable, fair, and supportive to small businesses ,especially those trying to do things the right way. This situation where a small business owner’s goods, reportedly cleared and duty paid at the border, were later confiscated at a roadblock. Cases like this ,whether due to misunderstanding or process gaps ,create uncertainty that discourages many in the diaspora. Ease of doing business is a key factor in attracting Zimbabweans back home. No one is asking for shortcuts. Tinongoda consistency, transparency, and systems that give confidence to those operating honestly. Zimbabwe has the talent, the drive, and the people ready to invest. Aligning systems to support that energy will make all the difference. Good luck to your wife and all the best for her businesss.

@FungaiJay @RMwareya @TheLifeZoomer Vakadzi don’t want to come back home because in the diaspora they don’t have to pfugama ,cook ,clean and pick up husband’s socks like the original African wives . Too much freedom in diaspora 😂🤣😂🤣
