@PGATOUR Horrible plan PGA! So will the Challenger tour be televised by CW? Looks like all 4 of the Texas stops will land in Tier 2! Pathetic! Very sad day for pro golf fans!

“Today’s announcement is a positive step for professional golf. As more details emerge, it is encouraging to see the PGA Tour reaffirming the importance of meritocracy and creating a structure that will serve both players and fans well into the future. "I’ve always been proud to compete around the world, and the collaboration between the PGA Tour and DP World Tour is one founded in the betterment of the game globally. The commitment to elevate some of these historic international tournaments and national opens is incredibly important for the game and something I’m very supportive of. "Over the last few years, golf has faced a period of uncertainty and division, which has not been in the best interests of the players, or the fans of the game. Today, we are putting the fans first, and I am excited about the future of our sport.”

Promises of leadership and entity heads reflecting the diversity of the SBC, have not been promises kept. There’s even been a decline in appointment of minorities and women to committees since The Law Amendment has been under discussion. Pictures of current officers and entity heads don’t reflect the diversity of the mission field we seek to reach, not the current diversity of the SBC. The key question is—why weren’t promises made, even embedded and documented in official resolutions, and the ‘95 apology—kept?

Florida Pastor Willy Rice was elected president of the Southern Baptist Convention during the Tuesday, June 9, afternoon session of the 2026 SBC annual meeting at the Orange County Convention Center. baptistpress.com/resource-libra…

Next week in Orlando, Southern Baptists will vote for a new SBC President, either @WillyRice or @JoshuaWPowell. If you wonder what the differences are, here's a quick comparison.

Normal SBC pastor: I love being a part of the SBC and supporting mission work through the Cooperative Program. Social Media SBC: YOU GOTTA BE OUTRAGED OVER WHAT I’M OUTRAGED ABOUT OR YOU’RE A HERETIC!!! Me: I like normal SBC pastors. See you in Orlando for #SBC26!

@philipnation Oh so what is your position on women pastors? Is that to controversial for you? I've been around guys like u in SBC life. You use evangelism & missions as a scapegoat for refusing to grow a pair and deal with doctrine. Weak men like yourself is how the SBC got nowhere it is

@DavidSchrock One question: how many people have been baptized in Rice and Powell’s church’s over the last year? Curious of the percentage they give to the CP.

The bottom line is this: Is the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) in need of reform, or not? If you believe the SBC needs reform and renewal as it fulfills the Great Commission, then Willy Rice is your candidate. If you believe the SBC has a lot to celebrate and that we should focus more on the Great Commission than alleged problems, then Josh Powell is your candidate.

@WilliamWolfe @rhett_burns Thousands of “tweets” for and against the “amendment.” I’ve not seen anything promoting Crossover Orlando which is going on right now. Reaching Orlando for Christ! Very very sad! Sbc is more concerned over women pastors than winning the lost!

Pastors like @rhett_burns are best of the SBC. I so greatly appreciate his kind but clear honesty here: The status quo simply will not suffice for leading the SBC out of the mess that it is in. We need leaders who are honest about the issues we face in our time—and willing to do the work to get us back on mission together

Josh Powell is a friend & pastors 20 minutes across town. I’d love to vote for him for SBC president one day. And that’s why I’m voting for @WillyRice next Tuesday. I explain here… centerforbaptistleadership.org/why-this-south…

What happens if the SBC doesn’t pass Mohler’s Truth & Unity Amendment? The same thing that happened to the Protestant Mainlines. Step 1: Ordain women Step 2: Ordain celibate homosexuals Step 3: Ordain practicing homosexuals Step 4: Ordain transgenders youtu.be/ZFlddC9BS40?si…

Another round of seizures Claire’s at-home rescue meds couldn’t stop. • Day began with ambulance to local ER. • Next a helicopter ride to Houston. She’s stabilized for the most part. We’re awaiting her neurology team’s recommendations for next steps. But prayer appreciated.

@ATLANTICWATERW @MaryWittTN To the entities? No. To the women who went on foreign missions outside of the Biblical bounds? Yes. This should've been men.

Opposition to the Mohler Amendment is STRONG. At this point I'll be shocked if it passes. What was supposed to be something that keeps us within Biblical bounds has actually served to be a spotlight that is revealing the liberalism that wasn't eradicated but merely retreated.

@JB_Durham80 how do you “ruthlessly” root out “serpentile heretics” ? By the way…”this woman” has a name. It’s Meredith Stone. Whether we agree with her or not, your text proves how hateful Christians can be.

@BaptistLeaders I’m sure out of the 46k that attended in 85 maybe a handful of messengers “slept” in their cars. Will we ever know? But the convention hierarchy all stayed in swanky hotels. I’m 65 yrs old and remember proudly I voted for Dr Winfred Moore!

Our Baptist forefathers slept in their cars so they could be there in Dallas in 1985 to help cement the victory of the Conservative Resurgence. You can come to Orlando in 2026 to honor their legacy and vote to secure sorely needed positive changes in the SBC.
Carlo Cicero@_Carlo_Cicero_

I was called to ministry while hearing the stories of reformation and revival. SBC pastors eating peanut butter sandwiches in their hotels rooms at the convention to save the denomination they loved. Every guy I did seminary with feels the same right now.

@Pastor_Gabe @18centurytruths Single household voting?? I’m 65 yrs old and have been in a southern Baptist church all my life. I’ve never heard this! Every church I have been a member of…all members male and female had a vote! But hey ever church can decide who votes.

@18centurytruths It depends on how that vote functions. We do have women that vote (we practice single household voting, and some of our women are single or widows), but that vote informs us of the will of the congregation. It does not necessarily steer the direction of the church. The elders do.

Women are not to teach or have authority over men in the church (1 Tim 2:11-12), in keeping with God's created purpose (v.13-14). That also means if a church committee can make authoritative decisions over men, women cannot serve on it. My saying so has apparently caused a stir.
