Since last year, I’ve been moving from hospital to hospital trying to get surgery for my ears, and they’re getting worse by the day. I could wake up and don’t hear anything at all. The major private hospitals are charging over Ksh 500,000 per ear which means more than a million shillings for both. I have insurance, but apparently the surgeon’s fee and the anesthetist’s fee have to be paid in cash upfront that’s about Ksh 300,000 on its own, separate from the hospital charges. And makes me wonder what the insurance is for????
The second option, a missionary hospital, doesn’t accept AAR insurance either, but they say SHA can cover the procedure fully(highly doubt it). The only issue is they’re still waiting for the specialist to be flown in. The third hospital just keeps giving me medication instead of addressing the surgery. And the fourth ,the private wing at KNH also doesn’t take AAR. 🤦♀️
On a serious note, take care of health Mahn it’s messy out here

My fellow Kenyans,
What I am asking for is simple and affects all of us.
Every hospital must have snake anti-venom and other life-saving drugs.
I know some of you support the govt, that is okay.
For once, let’s put politics aside and speak as human beings.
Any one of us can be bitten by a snake.
Imagine your wife, your child, or your parent rushed to a clinic, no anti-venom.
Then to a sub-county hospital, still none.
And you watch them die, powerless.
Let’s choose empathy.
This is why we must demand the Ministry of Health, CS Aden Duale, PS Muthoni, and counties to stock anti-venom in all hospitals immediately.
If there is money for PR, helicopters, and non-urgent spending, there must be money for life-saving drugs.
This is not politics.
Snakes don’t ask for party cards.
Today it is someone else. Tomorrow it could be any of us.
Equip all hospitals with antivenom.
Equip all hospitals with antivenom.

Eric Walters:
“China is ramping up exports of EVs, batteries, solar, wind and other clean technologies in high demand.
Meanwhile, the US is trying to strongarm its trading partners to buy oil and other fossil fuel products they increasingly don’t need and don’t want”

Electrotech is making its way around the world, as China’s clean technology exports hit a RECORD $20bn in August ⚡ The high was due to rapid growth in: 🚗 EVs 🔋 Batteries And over HALF of this growth occurred in countries outside of the OECD #COP30 ember-energy.org/latest-updates…
