@jazzrozz Get in contact with your local council health department to get an idea of noise regulations. There are limits on time of operation as well as decibel limits. They can equip you with a decibel meter to measure the noise to learn if it is too loud and should be limited.

@McKenzie_Ben I looked into this last year and ended up opting for Momentum Energy. They own the Hydro power stations in Tassie. I'm also with Cooperative Power who are looking into gas provision (but don't offer it yet).

Is there a least-bad gas retailer option for homes? In Australia, specifically Melbourne. (I’m a renter, so I don’t have the option to switch to electric for cooking etc.)
