Regarding the OpenAI case, the judge & jury never actually ruled on the merits of the case, just on a calendar technicality. There is no question to anyone following the case in detail that Altman & Brockman did in fact enrich themselves by stealing a charity. The only question is WHEN they did it! I will be filing an appeal with the Ninth Circuit, because creating a precedent to loot charities is incredibly destructive to charitable giving in America. OpenAI was founded to benefit all of humanity.

Partially true. The Cultural Revolution was absolutely a disaster for China’s intellectuals, heritage, education system, and countless families. I am so jealous of China. Just 30 years ago, they were poorer - that too at a time we were extremely poor. Today, they are the world's largest economy, have 9 out 10 top universities in the world, and are far ahead of everyone in engineering, life-sciences and quality of life. All this without changing their culture and language. We also tried. We made 30 IITs and 20 IIMs and 20 AIIMS. And filled them with professors who get 20 marks and with students who get 10 marks. Our highest ranked university is not in the top 500. But मस्त अंग्रेज़ी बोल रहे हैं हम लोग, hoping that a white company hires us.

China’s infrastructure and industrial progress are real. But average people are not living some effortless dream either. Many young people are still struggling with brutal housing prices, pressure to buy an apartment before marriage, long work hours, weak welfare, and anxiety about healthcare and education costs. A strong state and a prosperous society are not always the same thing.
