My baby daddy blocked me because I told him not to call me at 7pm since I’m someone’s wife. He doesn’t support the kid because he doesn’t work, so I told him that if you couldn’t call the kid earlier please consider calling the following day, he got angry and blocked me, that will not even affect me cause he doesn’t contribute anything towards raising the kid, it's my husband who knows that the kid has to be taken to school and stuff. Was I wrong?

I know a girl with a cat who went travelling in Europe for a month and left it home alone. She decided to extend the trip a month without returning home. Then another. And another. Until she'd been away 8 months in total. When she returned home, the cat was absolutely fine She said it didn't look thinner in any way. I did ask about flushing, but it allegedly knew how to perch and evacuate itself into the toilet bowl (3) no dedicated water source, but apparently the "tap leaked" and it only ever used that as a water source prior to her travels too She said that when she returned, there were still a few months of food left in the bucket, by her estimation, and that the cat had eaten surprisingly little. She explained that she knew the cat "wasn't greedy" so would "make the food last" and generally vouched that it was "an extremely smart cat". I internally wondered if it had gone into some kind of pseudo-hibernation or even a depressive state without any social stimulants or play This was a few years ago. The cat is still alive and healthy, and the girl still goes away for 1-3 months at a time, citing the 8 month stint as conclusive proof that her cat will be absolutely fine in these shorter trips This girl is a popular poster on this site, and frequently posts about her travels, with cultural observations and lots of photos of herself in different places

Went on a date to the movies and this man asked me if I wanted snacks. I said yes I'll have popcorn with jalapeños. He said oh you want me to buy your popcorn. I just looked at him for a second. You asked me if I wanted snacks. I told you what snack I wanted. And now we're here. I said oh you don't want to buy it? That's fine I'll get it myself. And I did. I bought my own popcorn with jalapeños and did not think about him for the rest of that interaction. I need someone to explain to me how we got here as a society. You asked. I answered. That's how the snack question works. You don't ask someone if they want something and then act surprised when they say yes. That's not a trick question I'm supposed to dodge. You opened that door. This is polarly different situation. If we were about to enter a movie and someone asked me if I wanted snacks, I wouldn’t assume it’s an offer to buy them. I’d take it as a question of logistics before we both pass the snack acquisition point. Just like if we were on our way to say the beach a someone asked me “do you want lunch?” I don’t assume it’s an offer to pay, rather, a logistics question. When you ask the snack question in your home the snacks being given are by design of being in your home and paid for, free, and I understand that your asking if I want some of your food which you’d provide. I certainly would pay for snacks on my date but the idea that question makes that a given is absurd to me

@kirleesi @luxemiaa That is not a normal human interaction. I am asking you a question not offering you anything. There is a legitimate difference between Do you want a snack? And Do you want me to get you a snack? Entirely different positioning and should lead to entirely different answers
