I asked "who's going to RubyKaigi" in my Slack and was impressed with who said yes. elite group, mostly ruby/rails core. RubyKaigi easily has the highest technical level of any Ruby or Rails conference.

I see. I understand what you are saying, and yes, it's gimmicky, but there is something about this perspective that feels incomplete or biased to me. But let me think about it. The one thing that stood out for me was that the 20L entry barrier eliminates a lot of good talent. Maybe it's intentional; in addition to an obsessive commitment to work he is also selecting for folks with the financial ability and willingness to give away 20L in order to have a front row seat.

Depraved of Indian CEOs of billion dollar companies to seek money from an employee. does not build a healthy startup ecosystem, it builds an extraction economy. I bet the only thing you can learn from this man is to give absolutely nothing even when at top of your career.
