@urwishpic@jordanyroc They also used several other songs, not just that one lol you’re telling me a two year trial came down to solely her song you’re delusional lol he’s free because of his LAWYER.
@kixx_nc@jordanyroc 2018* This is yet another reason music lyrics shouldn’t be used to help build cases to prosecute people. They used this song & had to drop a lot of their argument because they, just like you, did not research to see that Nicki wrote the lyrics
They had their time.
But right now we are dead in the middle of their downfall. Individually, yet it’s all happening simultaneously, which is ironic.
No matter what they drop, music or otherwise, it’s received poorly.
They’ve lost their cool factor. It’s open season on clowning everything they do.
And it’s warranted.
They’re all stuck in unfavorable contractual deals, debt, lawsuits, scandals, etc.
And all the playing victim, crying and bitching that they do has turned the people against them.
They’ve also never stood for anything so it’s hard to empathize with them.
Even a lot of their old catalog of music is aging terribly.
They had a good run, but it’s over.
@kixx_nc@kanyestreams1 Utopia was definitely more anticipated than Donda. Just because Travis isn’t as popular today doesn’t change that fact. The followup to Astroworld and Astrofest had an insane expectation.
@jordanyroc Idk about them other 🥷 but Nicki time will NEVER be up. She is the reason: Young Thug is free, musicians get paid & certified for streams, rap is competitive, artists use social media to build & connect w/their fans, the list goes on...She paved the way & is 4ever the way
@urwishpic@jordanyroc Soulja Boy is the OG social media king tbh. He was the first artist to go “viral.” His career literally started bc of social media. I hate to say it but T Swift was equally or more vital to the stream stuff as well, she made moves 2 years prior to the Nicki stuff.
@urwishpic@jordanyroc Thug is free bc of his lawyer. Musicians got paid before streams, even if unfairly when streams came along they still got paid. She did help with the certifications stuff. Rap has been competitive before she was even born.
@DropOutDylan@j4virw_ That’s what separated Ye, all his albums have such a different sound & concept from the other. All Drake music sounds exactly the same.
@j4virw_ How do you beat a
College Dropout, Late Registration, Graduation, 808's, MBDTF, Watch The Throne, Yeezus, TLOP, Ye, KSG, JIK, Donda run.
Arguably all classics besides maybe JIK with all distinct sounds btw.
I'm so lost with hip hop man, doesn't feel like there's a pathway for new stars, the former next ups thought they made it there already, took big breaks and came back to nothing, and the "big three" latest drops just got outdone by KanYe taking a shower. Who is taking it forward?
@GcodeShod7@Pkilla701@kieronFish He has quite literally always sounded the same his entire career. Basic all talking over beats, he does absolutely nothing special.
@Pkilla701@kieronFish I agree his rapping is better now
Ppl don’t realize if he stayed with the same sound they’d say he never progressed and sounds “the same” so pick one
“Maid Of Honour” = Fun, Flirty, Party album. “Habibti” = Sex. “Iceman” = Back to the trap. Introspective. Addressing the beefs. Quotables. Classic Drake. Something for everyone.
@KariDaniels Overall, I’m not happy but I haven’t loved a Drake album in a minute. I’m still a fan (putting it out there before I’m called a hater). I’ll have to listen again giving each album separate repeated listens.
