I truly don’t understand why people aren’t also equally appalled at Benson’s slewfoot. Yes, the stick slash is way more dangerous and far more violent and cannot happen. He will be suspended likely for 3-5 games. Benson slew-footed him up 4-1 in the final 2 minutes of a series-ending win, on a clear icing after Benson lost the race. McAvoy is 100% wrong for the slash, put blatantly ignoring context seems foolish to me.

@RyanHanaWWP This was not a dirty play by Benson at all. He’s skating with McAvoy, trying to get control and slow down and McAvoy goes down. If he was trying to be dirty it was an easy situation to hold and pull his jersey or run him into boards. McAvoy is a bitch
