One of The Pitt’s greatest attributes is its willingness to present characters who are flawed and inconsistent in very real, thoughtful ways, and so many of the show’s fans seem to think that’s a problem for some reason

Seeing the reactions to this scene on here and I’m genuinely worried that either the pandemic or social media have wiped out people’s understanding that human beings are complex and contradictory and not everything is a zero-sum game of right and wrong.

@kjoyMD @PatCrave And honestly this is why I get fired up when I see horrible takes on here about Langdon/ addiction. It touch real people. Patrick reads what is said about his character online. And these people are human they are our patients, but also family friends and colleagues.

@cocuzzo_kaitlyn @PatCrave And the actor himself has been through recovery so it’s important to him to portray it truthfully and with compassion. All the Langdon takes kill me because it’s clear how many people have not had someone they love touched by addiction (or they don’t know).

I’m about to finish season 1 of The Pitt and based on some of the posts I’ve seen about it, not only is it abundantly clear that none of you have ever worked in healthcare, I’m not sure some of you have ever even interacted with another human being

Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.
