My impressions on Crimson Desert after 10 hours played "Combat is the star of the show" ▪️A very slow and messy beginning that does get going after about 7-8 hours (I think the game needed to make a bit more of a bang and be more streamlined from the start. Read more 👇 ▪️Pywel is beautiful! And there is a photo mode! but it is kinda rudimentary, just let's you move the camera around and change the focal length. ▪️While the world is beautiful, I'm not that impressed by the character models, not sure if it's my settings but they look like waxworks to me and not quite like real people.  ▪️Combat is the star of the show for me so far. It feels visceral and there's plenty to unlock in the skill tree to keep it fresh. Yet to meet a real challenge but I'm sure there will be some to come. ▪️Quest design is a bit hit or miss but seems to get better once you get through the slow beginning, where you seem to just be doing random stuff and no idea why really, once you get to the start of rebuilding the greymanes, it all starts to click.  *Side note* I appreciate that when you need to gain entry to somewhere you're not allowed, you can disguise yourself, even though the game isn't a true RPG, it's nice to have different ways of tackling quests.  ▪️Weapons and armour progression I can't speak to very much except I killed a boss and got their sword which was an upgrade on what I had and has a cool skill, which I'm here for. ▪️Buttons and controls while definitely not super streamlined, have gotten more hate than I think is deserved, combat controls I have no issue with and as long as you remember to use L1 for anything that requires precision, it's not too bad.(The patch improved a lot of things as well)  ▪️Although not a big deal but the load times are far longer than most open world games these days. ▪️I've not encountered any major bugs, a guy fell into the floor once but that's about it. Despite it's rocky launch I'm super enjoying the game! But let me know in the replies if you agree or disagree or just found this helpful in any way

@Pirate_Pete_ Definitely a game you need to spend some time with and it doesn't grab you right out the gate like most games are designed to do nowadays

@KJP_Plays Funny that user scores had it the same as reviewers, but it rocketed up the more the played I wonder if reviewers even bothered to progress the game to see These legacy media reviewers are so out of touch from gamers

Big discrepancy between reviewer's and users for Crimson Desert Which score is more accurate for you?

@BonafideXP Same, I'm over 24 hours now and feel like I've just scratched the surface

@KJP_Plays Man, I really am. The game is consuming me and it doesn’t ever feel like it. I have 40 hours in and it only feels like 10.

@AlexTownley227 Everyone's experience is their own tbf, I'm leaning towards the 8.5 myself after 24 hours played

@KJP_Plays The 78. Frankly I think the YouTubers praising it nonstop are the ones that are out of touch this time around. Not a bad game by any means, but I’m not having anywhere near as much fun as all of these people are claiming.

@RAKSWALKER It's great, I'm definitely leaning towards 8.5, maybe higher depending on how the rest of the game goes

Kearush the slayer down! Maybe my favourite boss in Crimson Desert so far. Three damn phases! And that grab attack is the worst 😭

1st attempt , didn’t even need to use a Pill. Wish I had gotten to him sooner #CrimsonDesert

Death Stranding 2 is still only beaten out by Expedition 33 for my favourite 2025 release Top 3 are now: 1. Expedition 33 2. Death Stranding 2 3. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
