T: Going to college? S1: Yes. T: Great. T: Going to college? S2: No. T: Great. The majority of my kids will never earn a college degree. That choice cannot be any less-great. Their value should not be based on my value set. Meeting them is valuing them. Where they are.

I used to keep kids in at recess for not completing homework. I now realize they didn't do the homework, not because they didn't want to, but because they didn't know how to and had no one to ask. The problem with homework: It highlights inequalities.
