Mondays have been full of terrible news. First ,The Kelly Clarkson Show is ending, now this week we get hit with an entire week of a guest host host, and right after a two week hiatus because of the Olympics. I guess it will be good practice for when the show is gone for good.
The tragedy and chaos the country is witnessing in Minneapolis is shocking. The killing yesterday of Alex Pretti, a U.S. citizen, by ICE agents should raise serious questions within the administration about the adequacy of immigration-enforcement training and the instructions officers are given on carrying out their mission. Lawfully carrying a firearm does not justify federal agents killing an American—especially, as video footage appears to show, after the victim had been disarmed.
A comprehensive, independent investigation of the shooting must be conducted in order to rebuild trust and Congressional committees need to hold hearings and do their oversight work. ICE agents do not have carte blanche in carrying out their duties.
@nbclarkson Idk…I think it could be either….they might still be negotiating….if they knew it was the last season they would be promoting it as such to get as much ratings as possible ….they wouldn’t be keeping it a secret. I just think there hasn’t been a final decision made by Kelly.
Not the most reliable source but also not totally unexpected if true.
The fact that there hasn’t been any renewal announcement by now is a major sign we’re coming to an end—either this season or the following one. 😕
Kelly Clarkson fans: any thoughts on this RUMOUR?
@lisamurkowski How about you actually do something to stop it from happening…votes that can vetoed do nothing….you’ve sat back with the rest of the republican senate and allowed this to happen on your watch.
These tariffs are unnecessary, punitive, and a profound mistake. They will push our core European allies further away while doing nothing to advance U.S. national security.
We are already seeing the consequences of these measures in real time: our NATO allies are being forced to divert attention and resources to Greenland, a dynamic that plays directly into Putin’s hands by threatening the stability of the strongest coalition of democracies the world has ever seen.
Congress must work together to reassert our Constitutional authority over tariffs so that they are not weaponized in ways that harm our alliances and undermine American leadership.

After speaking with Chair Powell this morning, it’s clear the administration’s investigation is nothing more than an attempt at coercion. If the Department of Justice believes an investigation into Chair Powell is warranted based on project cost overruns—which are not unusual—then Congress needs to investigate the Department of Justice. The stakes are too high to look the other way: if the Federal Reserve loses its independence, the stability of our markets and the broader economy will suffer. My colleague, Senator Tillis, is right in blocking any Federal Reserve nominees until this is resolved.
