Key component of great math program? Word problems and problems with words! If you believe math is about context – applying strategies/skills – then we need kids to verbalize their thinking. Verbal? Means WORDS. Spoken & WRITTEN. Quality of Tammy's problems below? Thru the roof!

Here's a fun puzzle for your A.M. coffee! We work to find the "sweet spot" – problems & puzzles that are just hard enough to give a sense of accomplishment but not too hard to be discouraging. Also need the right mix of reasoning, computation and key concepts. ALL are important!
