Really have to hand it to Trump, it's almost impossible to spike inflation, mortgage rates, and unemployment simultaneously, but he's managing to get it done. Courses will be taught in business school using Trump as a model for how NOT to run the world's largest economy.
Adam Kobeissi@TKL_Adam

US bond markets are under serious pressure. The 10Y Note Yield is back at 4.40% and the average 30Y Mortgage is up to 6.38%, up for 4-straight weeks. Just days prior to the Iran War, mortgages fell to the 5%'s for the first time since 2022. The bond market needs serious help.

@WalshFreedom It is not elitist and out of touch. That’s just the media narrative you and the media have both created and believe. You never back it up with actual evidence. It’s just a “vibe” you’ve created. That’s it.

In the eyes of most Americans, both parties suck. And I agree. As a very new Democrat, I believe the Republican Party sucks way more bcuz it’s an existential threat to democracy & the rule of law, whereas my new party sucks bcuz it’s just wrong on a bunch of issues and it’s elitist & out of touch.

Trump is paying a foreign company nearly $1 BILLION of YOUR money to stop building wind farms in America that would have lowered your electricity bills. He lost in court FIVE times trying to kill these projects that would have powered over a million homes. So he decided to buy his way out of it instead. Yes, you heard that right. The President of the United States is literally spending your tax dollars to make your energy bills more expensive. nytimes.com/2026/03/23/cli…

@mcuban Voters punish politicians who even make an attempt to do the hard work, so blame politicians all you want but you also have to blame voters who expect solutions yesterday. And blame the media who just want to make news a sport.

Single payer COULD cut cost and improve care but there are 2 fundamental issues. 1. All plans proposed have placed the Sec of HHS in charge of the program. You can't have a political appointee in that position and it's hard to de-politiicize HC in this country 2. They assume that they can get providers and specialists to accept whatever rates they set. You are talking about organizations that in most cases, don't even know their costs. Why ? They don't want to know their costs. For lots of reasons to long to dig into here Proponents of M4A have to first get hospitals to the point where they can define all their costs and do a Bill of Materials for procedures. You can't negotiate a price for all Americans if you don't know what your costs are It's Shark Tank 101. So we get a stalemate. Politicians don't do the work needed. Hospitals and providers avoid the work needed Other countries started on their path to universal care decades and decades ago. When healthcare was much simpler technically and fiscally. If senators won't support the Break Up Big Medicine Bill or anything comparable , there is no chance of getting to single payer. Our politicians don't have the backbone to do what is needed. You can call out all but Hawley and warren. No one else has uttered a syllable in support
Berniebabe2016☮️🟧@berniebabe2016

@mcuban @IngGuthrie #MedicareForAll would resolve that issue. Healthcare should not be connected to employment.

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.
ABC News@ABC

The trust funds for Social Security and Medicaid will run out of money in as little as 8 years, a shorter time frame than previously estimated, according to a report issued Wednesday by the programs' trustees. abcnews.link/r5kTy1r

@kenckar @SenateBudget @AMYSUSANLEVIN True, assuming the employer would actually pay that to the employee. I’m not sure there’s much evidence that would actually happen but maybe. Certainly an independent contractor should account for that half when determining their hourly rate.

MURRAY: Is it true that people making under $184k pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate? DAHL: Yes. MURRAY: And the rate for someone making $1 million? DAHL: 2.2%. MURRAY: So, a 12.4% tax for people making less than $184k, but 2.2% for a millionaire or .0002% for billionaires.

Jacob pinpoints THE problem the media has had with Trump & the GOP for years: if they actually told the truth, they (the media) would seem biased against the right. So in order to SEEM fair, they have to distort reality. Trump & the GOP know this & use it to their advantage.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

"The best example of the news media deciding somebody is unfit for office, because of their mental fitness or unfitness, is how they treated Biden in 2024. Biden was old and rational. Right now, Trump is old and irrational, but he’s not getting the same kind of treatment." publicnotice.co/p/mark-jacob-i…

Scoop in @playbookdc: @hasanthehun, the left-wing political streamer with millions of followers, will rally with Michigan Democratic Senate candidate @AbdulElSayed at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan on April 7. It’s his first appearance on the stump for a candidate.

@Scaramucci They talk about every single thing you suggested ALL THE TIME! Because you refuse to listen or only hear the narrative you want or the media creates for you, doesn’t mean they’re not saying it! It’s the GOP who hasn’t been able to govern for 40 years & is in constant disarray.

Most of you will hate me saying this, but I will say it anyway. The Democrats are in complete disarray and have no coherent message. No real solutions. Just anti-Trump rhetoric on a loop. And listen — I understand the anti-Trump sentiment. I share a lot of it. But that is not a governing platform. That is not a vision for the country. And it is not going to win elections. Talk to your constituents about affordability. About raising living standards. About the wealth gap that is tearing this country apart at the seams. Here’s the hard truth: If we don’t fix the wealth gap through traditional American capitalism, we will have a populist leader on the left or a populist leader on the right in perpetuity. And that is genuinely dangerous for the country. Trump looks imperious right now. Looks invincible. I understand why people are scared. But he’s got 36 months. He can do a lot of damage in 36 months. I won’t minimize that. But it is 36 months. The question is whether the opposition uses that time to build something real or spends it screaming into the void.

I’m about to get married, and my fiancé knows I have an inheritance that was left to me by my grandparents. It’s in my name only, and I’ve been saving it for years. Now he’s saying that before we get married, I should put the entire inheritance into a joint account so we can “start fresh together,” or he doesn’t think we should go through with the wedding. I’m 36 already and this is something my family worked hard to leave me. I’m torn between wanting to build a life together and feeling like I’m being pressured to give up something important to me. What do you think I should do? By isitmeaitah

@Zacbunchanumbrs @BlueRepublik Every time Biden spoke about it he said “we still have more work to do & I know people are struggling.” Just because the media distorted everything he said and took it out of context doesn’t make their narrative true. I bet people would take Biden’s economy back in a heartbeat.

No man, he absolutely gaslit people trying to pretend the economy was good not just that it was getting better. They absolutely attempted to deny any of the criticisms and complaints about affordability that average Americans were making. You are not going to gaslight us about Biden's gas lighting.

This is the MAGA plan They get the Supreme Court to say that mail-in ballots arriving after Election Day are no longer valid. Then the Postmaster General makes massive cuts right before the election, so the mail is slowed down by weeks. VOTE IN PERSON npr.org/2026/03/17/nx-…
