@bfhermann @Zoe_Beausoleil They don’t do it when the attending is looking. I was draping and the tech purposefully dropped it on my head so I had to rescrub. Then after I rescrubbed he dropped my tie too early while gowning up so he said I had to rescrub again. Attending was like “what took you so long?”

@Zoe_Beausoleil As an attending it’s crazy for me to think of a scrub being malicious to a med student. I love the scrubs I work with, but if I saw one being mean to a student I would be like, ‘Who the f*** do you think you are?’

not sure why some scrub techs feel the need to be mean to medical students for no reason

@olsonplanner When you apply for IDR there is an option to be taken out of forbearance and resume payments as well.

@kmiddletonmd One reason would be to get qualifying PSLF payments started sooner. Otherwise they’ll begin counting in December.

@olsonplanner Is consolidation just for if you don’t have direct loans already? Is there any reason to consolidate if your already have direct federal loans?

@thekayleelayton It’s not slander if it’s true. The internet is forever and you would very quickly lose a defamation/libel case. In fact no lawyer would want to pick it up knowing you’ll lose. And no, no one will be thanking you for your service. You’re a dependent.

EM residents what proportion of shifts/patients do you think are peds because it may be 10% for me and idk if they'll be 10% of what I see as an attending I am scared of kids

Every. Single. Medical school, residency, attending job applicant should ASK what the program does to respond to mental health crises, what resources are offered. And if they don’t have an answer do not go.

@shanercpower @joshmcgoo There are lots of emergency medicine residencies in rural communities that don’t have peds. Not every program is in a big city.

@shanercpower @joshmcgoo The lack of peds emergency departments. Not every residency program has an associated children’s hospital or one nearby.

@joshmcgoo In other countries (Ireland, Australia) it's usual for EM residents to rotate into a children's hospital for a six month block to facilitate training. Does this happen in the states? If not, why not?
