‼️DISCUSSION REGARDING THE NEGATIVE NAVER SEARCH ISSUES SURROUNDING JUHOON‼️ A. CURRENT SITUATION At the moment, when searching “주훈” or “쿠르티즈 주훈” on Naver, around 5–6 out of 10 suggested keywords are negative. Examples include: “Juhoon self-h**m,” “Juhoon bedsheet,” “Juhoon pill*w,” “Juhoon slapped,” and other harmful search terms. After monitoring the search volume of keywords related to Juhoon, we found that these negative terms are still receiving relatively high search traffic. At this point, we cannot determine the exact cause- whether it is due to antis intentionally manipulating searches, casual users clicking out of curiosity, or new fans unintentionally engaging with the suggested keywords. However, the result is the same: the algorithm continues to recognize and maintain the visibility of these harmful keywords associated with Juhoon. Previously, fanbases within Juhoon Union organized multiple mass search projects using positive keywords in an attempt to suppress the negative ones. However, in reality, these efforts only showed temporary results before the situation returned, meaning the issue has still not been fundamentally resolved. Current search volumes for several negative keywords include: • “Juhoon self-h**m”: 4,020 + 1,000 • “Juhoon bed”: 1,180 + 1,700 • “Juhoon blanket”: 630 + 1,070 B. WHY IS THIS ISSUE IMPORTANT AND URGENT? These negative keywords do not only have short-term effects - they can remain attached to Juhoon’s image for a very long time. This directly impacts his personal reputation, promotional activities, brand partnership opportunities, and long-term career growth. Recently, Juhoon has been gaining a significant number of new fans. Many people discovering him for the first time will naturally search his name on Naver or other Korean platforms. When negative keywords appear first, it can easily create misunderstandings, leave a negative first impression, or encourage further curiosity clicks, which only increases the search volume of those harmful terms. Search suggestions are often one of the very first things the public sees when searching for an idol. The appearance of multiple negative keywords can distort Juhoon’s image and create the false impression that he is involved in controversies or serious issues, even when that is not the case. As these negative keywords continue circulating, antis can more easily exploit them to spread edited content, malicious narratives, or further negative discussions. This not only affects the fandom but can also directly impact Juhoon’s mental well-being and public image. This is no longer a minor fandom issue. If the situation continues for too long, the algorithm may eventually recognize these terms as “popular keywords,” making it significantly harder to clean them up in the future. That is why this issue needs to be addressed early and collectively before it becomes completely unmanageable. C. CURRENT PROPOSED SOLUTIONS After reviewing discussions from Korean fans regarding this issue, many Korean fans believe that defamatory or malicious search keywords can be formally addressed by the company in order to protect the artist. However, up until now, there has been no clear action taken by BIGHIT MUSIC. After internal discussions, these are the measures we are currently proposing: • Organize continuous mass positive keyword searches alongside mass email campaigns for one week (with a minimum target of 200 proofs per day) • If mass search and mass mail efforts do not show clear results, we will consider stronger measures such as sending protest trucks demanding that the company directly address and resolve the issue. We are posting this in hopes that all COER can seriously discuss the current situation together and contribute additional effective solutions to help protect Juhoon.
