i know what it is to be program in your thinking. We must be careful not to trust everything we hear, even if it is from people we trust. @AmyScot628692 @Truth_matters20 Salvation is trusting in Jesus, who he is and what He did and repenting with a contrite heart for offending God by breaking his moral law. Repentance is continuous, we mis the mark & 1st Jn. l:9. It is God that grants Repentance - Acts 11:18 God decides not us. Sorry is asking.

Last year God really showed me this truth. It was an amazing experience to learn. Many people want heaven, but on their terms.

Eph. 2:8-9 States it right there. It is a gift. Yes pistis & that is where you are missing it. Faith also means to Trust. Jesus said to believe in him. Believe is the verb and faith is the nown. Jesus is the One who causes one to trust in the facts of the gospel. It is all Jesus.

@knowHim53 @Truth_matters20 Faith is not a gift - salvation is the gift. Faith pistis means to be convinced of the facts. You can have faith that a chair will bear your weight, just like you can have faith that trusting Jesus will save you.

@AmyScot628692 @Truth_matters20 Yes, Augustine did have that view but also changed his views over time on a number of things, but I do not agree that he was the first. We have discussed this already. I read the that the apostles believed and taught that. At lest at the moment I don't think we will agree.

So many professing Christians know about Jesus, but don't know Him. Polls say that 70 -90% in church are not saved

The Bible Jesus died so that ALL men could be saved. Does the Calvinist Jesus save? How unbiblical does your Jesus have to be before He doesn't save?
