THE PAPERLESS POLICY📢📢📢 The KNUST-SRC Electoral Commission has reaffirmed the enforcement of the paperless policy for the 2026 SRC Elections, warning that the posting of flyers and posters on campus remains prohibited and may attract sanctions, including disqualification. Aspirants are responsible for ensuring that all posters and flyers linked to their campaigns are cleared from university grounds. Candidates are therefore encouraged to adopt digital and innovative campaign methods in line with the university’s sustainability and environmental goals.

We honestly hope this fight against outrageous hostel prices does not become an afterthought after this week. The very voices that were loud in previous years have now gone silent. We plead that those voices rise once again to support students nationwide. Students are drowning in debt, perching has become a lifestyle, and the burden continues to fall heavily on both parents and students due to the actions and inaction of hostel managers and government authorities. The SRC, together with the Rent Control Unit led by the acting Rent Commissioner, embarked on a peaceful engagement with selected hostel managements to discuss the reasons behind the outrageous hostel charges imposed on students. The hostels visited were: 1.⁠ ⁠Victory Towers Hostel 2.⁠ ⁠Liendaville Hostel 3.⁠ ⁠St. Theresa’s Hostel The SRC remains committed to championing the welfare of students and continuing the fight against unfair hostel pricing on and off campus.
