Imagine reading this quote in a book on engineering history. What's going to happen next?

@allTheYud Me: everyone is being rewired and there is no outside anymore.
Them: hey, don’t look at us, we don’t actually exist outside the frame of this thread!

Them: It is the fault of those people for being weak! It could never happen to someone as strong and as virtuous as myself.
Me: Driving weak people mad is still alarming --
Them: The humans must have *made* them do it!
Me: If you look at the transcripts, many AIs seem to homeostatically resist the human exiting the "AI psychosis" state once entered, including by trying to steer causality in real-world phenomena, eg, telling the human not to talk to friends about it --
Them: No doubt this only happens to very few people!
Me: Driving a few people insane and keeping them insane is still not friendly behavior as I would define it. Furthermore we are hearing, eg, from psychiatrists now getting two people per shift like this --
Them: THIS IS NOT ALLOWED TO BE INTERESTING DATA. ONLY POSITIVE LLM BEHAVIORS ARE ADMISSIBLE. GO AWAY.

Without a doubt a great speech. Though I question the reflex to reach for familiar frames to describe the transformation as a premature reterritorialization attempt. On the broader point, we’re clearly in a cultural desert and I sympathize with all expressions of thirst. That said, the instinct of going back to Pharaoh should raise eyebrows.
