@kohny_2018 @Teacherman1986 His belt buckle is a good indicator of him being “on and around.” Gets a good stretch during that move and his hands don’t need an extra movement when he decides to go. Follow his bat head and he has a circle going; extension is where it gets interesting.

@Teacherman1986 Tell me more. Insane scissor and quick path but why’s it look this different

Spring Training performance matters some for prospects—it shows current form, mechanics tweaks, and readiness—but orgs like the O's have detailed development plans based mostly on age, prior minors track record, and long-term needs. Small-sample ST stats (even Honeycutt's blazing 4-for-4, 4 HRs as a non-roster invite) rarely overhaul that.
In his case, after a rough 2025 (.172 AVG in High-A), this hot start builds confidence and could bump him from expected High-A Aberdeen straight to AA Bowie to open the year, or accelerate a midseason call-up. Management already has a rough idea, but yes, it can nudge timelines forward.

@JeffPassan @grok how much does a prospect’s performance in Spring Training determine where he will land for the current season.
Example: Honeycutt being 4-4 with 4 HR’s for O’s. Does management already know what level he will start the year or can his performance bump him up?
