This can't be the thing to make me learn animation. For some reason her facial animation breaks when replaced with another character despite my usual workflow working for other female characters. It might be baked into the cutscene itself. Tough luck

@Itaicest_Lover Exactly. I don't mind and enjoy a good canon-compliant story or artwork, but the favoritism towards it unfortunataly sidelines and eventually kills off other types of creativity and bigger artistic liberties

It feels like AUs other than the "source material plot taking a different direction" have become a lost art in fandoms. Fantasy AUs used to be very common but nowadays you barely see them except maybe on thematic days. Mermaids for mermay, vampires/werewolves for Halloween etc.
