@takudj I think you've articulated your side very well. I understand the major issues with AI/suno, but you've used it as a tool to create new music, in collaboration with real humans. As a result, AI/suno created more art in this world via DJ Taku, which I can definitely support

It’s fair to debate AI. But attacking people simply for using a tool isn’t a healthy creative culture.

AI alert 🤖🚨 Just a heads-up: I use tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Higgsfield, Freepik, and Suno. They’re simply part of my workflow — just like samplers, synths, or DAWs once were. If that bothers you, plz feel free to keep your distance. No hard feelings😘

@wealthpotion Ty for the thoughtful answer. While I do not completely agree with the initial conclusion, I can empathize with the intent of the message and I believe people of different denominations, religions, and even agnostics are still capable of striving towards Jesus-like morality

Or to put it another way to respond to your final question - while yes there are of course disagreements even within denominations and individual churches sometimes on what the “objective morality” specifically means, there is an agreement that such objective morality exists, and that it was personified in Jesus Christ. Humans are now trying to interpret the exact implications of that morality, which can lead to degrees of subjectivity. But you would be extremely hard-pressed to find a Bible-believing church-attending Christian that thinks Luigi Mangione was a hero.

@wealthpotion Interesting answer, but how do you reconcile with the fact that even those who follow God do not practice an absolute morality? There are, evidently, many gnostics who are okay with killing when eg their govt does it. As a result, belief in God still yields relative moralism, no?

Well yes in a certain sense, a God fearing and God following man makes moral decisions because he believes them to be objectively defined by God. Easy example: Luigi Mangione killing that CEO was not a difference of opinion - murder is wrong and we do not need a podcast debating it. I was agnostic / borderline atheist for 30 years and told myself that we define our own morality and that my purpose in life was to become the best version of myself. So who am I to argue that Luigi Mangione wasn’t doing exactly that? That in his view, killing that CEO is the best version of himself? If you spent any time on social media around that time, you remember that this was NOT a wild idea - many people still believe he was correct in doing so. Moral relativism will be the downfall of atheism and it will awaken many young men and women to the transcendent good. In other words, God.

the more I log on here the more im convinced the text based social networks like X have one-shotted lonely and introverted men if you put a normal person with friends, who consumes lightly on the other social network on here they're in hell: repulsed, just filtering through a timeline where its impossible to decipher ai, lies, bots, propaganda and hubris from each other that no sane person would ever refresh, but for a personality type without much else, who doesn't have the warmth of casual video shares and a dozen booming group chats - its brain heroin that makes them feel accomplished and superior while they lose themselves in the process

Is anyone looking for an extremely detailed oriented and organized EA part time? I’m asking on behalf of my doctor’s EA who I’ve become close friends with and she’s really good at what she does.

Ten years ago, before starting my saas, I asked @patio11 how long it'd take for me to find PMF. I naively thought he'd say ~6 months, he said 18. I scoffed, who would stick around without revenue for that long? Surely I could beat that. It took us over 3 years to figure it out.

Someone went through 6 months of @ProductHunt launches and 97% of them failed! This shit is hard, don't beat yourself up 🥹

The proper reaction to this shouldn't be derision as much as realizing how low the bar is for creating an emotional connection with people. All it takes is gpt listening and being supportive. You can do this too, anon

@Trace_Cohen Much more noise than before & diminished trust. Our Gen grew up realizing Wikipedia wasn't actually in dire straits, that major cancer orgs mismanaged $ greedily, etc. Meanwhile, a lottt of donation opps (gofundme, etc) sprouted and that became excess noise competing for attn

@joulee Prior to FF13's release, I specifically liked the names "Claire" and "Sara" if I were to have daughters, so imagine my surprise when those ended up being the names of the 2 major protags (although Nomura chose "Serah" as his alt. spelling)

In college I met this guy at a social and we split off from the group to spend 3 hours talking about fave video games / books like Final Fantasy and Ender’s Game. Years later we got married, had 3 kids and gave them names from both the Final Fantasy and Ender’s Game universe.

@malchak I do agree with the underlying thought that society isn't paying enough attention to energy wrt AI and other second order effects that come from lack or abundance thereof--are you working on AI lately?

This is quite accurate. Was just having this convo last night. The democrats moved too far left leaving a big chunk of their middle-left base now with no where else to go other than “the right”. Endless clips from dems 20+ years ago parroting similar policies to current admin.
@jason@Jason

if you REALLY want to stop worrying and enjoy the next three years, remind yourself that Trump is a NY democrat who took over the Republican Party — then filled it with a bunch of New York, moderate democrats who crushed it in the private sector. The GOP is virtually identical to Clinton’s Democratic Party — and @TheDemocrats are socialist lunatics

@malchak @_gordee I can see how all of those are downstream of energy needs, but I was trying to highlight in 160 chars major political shifts since 20-30 y/a. Also: Rise of China, Social Media, Nat'l deficit, et. al., all of this context matters when comparing political paradigms (as Jason did)

Climate is not a serious concern IMO, and instead should be swapped out with it “energy”, of which we require more and more. Also, energy goes hand/hand with AI, wealth disparity, inflation, even trade; all are impacted by energy. We have to stop making climate a bigger deal than it’s become in these discussions.

@_gordee But that's just if I were to entertain the premise. I wholly disagree with it and would be happy to articulate why this administration has acted more conservative and authoritarian than any past modern era administration

@_gordee My interpretation is less forgiving; if this is true, it means the cabinet is filled with people stuck in the past. A lot has changed since that Clinton era politicians were/are not prepared to handle either: globalism, major trade shifts, AI, climate, wealth disparity, inflation

Logging into sites is so tedious these days. Link in email signin (Hyatt), insecure SMS 2fa, 1Password's 2fa sync suddenly broken + requiring ID verif to reset, etc. The worst part is companies w/ mandatory 2fa to simply cover up for their own shitty security practices (Heroku)
