GREAT NIGERIA BUILDING FIRE UPDATE 🚨 Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu today paid another visit to the LIVE site of the Great Nigeria Insurance building which was engulfed in fire on the 24th December 2025. Mr Governor first visited this site on 25th December 2025, at the site today, he once again commiserated with families of the victims of the incident and also people that lost their properties. Updates according to Mr Governor: - 8 confirmed dead (5 identified, 3 unidentified), 13 rescued so far. - Information Center created at the site for any form of enquiries required (LASEMA, NEMA, LASBCA and all other agencies on ground) - The entire area remains UNSAFE for any form of activity and businesses, ONLY first responders should remain on site, market area remains closed. - First responders still working on site, should there be anyone trapped in the rubbles especially around the back of the building (in the safest possible way). - He also identified continuous recklessness by the market operation their generators on the buildings, shops built around transformers and other unsafe acts. - GNI Building will be demolished in the safest possible way including some buildings around it after review. #LagosIslandFire #GreatNigeriaHouse
