Why did most of tech accounts I follow on this app suddenly get obsessed with plush icons?

Stores in Serbia are still displaying iPhone 14 and old iPads with home buttons, the iPad is probably thr 9th gen. Although the 14 is still a great phone I don't like how the 60hz screen feels laggy.
