In Kruger National Park, South Africa, veteran ranger Sipho Nkosi suffered a heart attack while on solo patrol. His vehicle was found empty, and search teams began looking for him. What the park’s remote trail cameras revealed broke the hearts of everyone who saw the footage. An old bull elephant — known to rangers as “Mnumzane” (Zulu for “Sir”) — had found Sipho’s body. For three full days and nights, the elephant refused to leave. He stood guard, gently touching the ranger with his trunk, chasing away hyenas and jackals that came too close, and even covering parts of the body with branches and leaves. On the third night, the elephant was still there — visibly grieving, swaying slowly beside his fallen friend. Only when the full recovery team arrived with vehicles did Mnumzane finally step back, watching solemnly as they carried Sipho away. Park officials later confirmed that Sipho had rescued this same elephant as a calf years earlier after poachers killed his mother. The elephant had never forgotten. One colleague who viewed the footage whispered: “He didn’t come to say goodbye. He came to make sure no one disrespected his brother.” Mnumzane still visits the exact spot regularly. Rangers now leave fresh water and fruit there in honor of both.

MrBeast just gave one of the strongest endorsements possible for Starlink: “I will only book flights exclusively on planes with Starlink. I don’t care if it means an extra layover - I’ll sit in the back of the plane if it gives me Starlink.” He says Starlink has become the backbone of his global productions and travels because it works in places where traditional internet simply doesn’t exist: • Filming in Antarctica - one of the only reliable ways to stay connected • Building wells deep in rural Africa with full internet access hours away from cities • Driving through remote villages and open fields with a Starlink dish mounted on the vehicle while maintaining signal the entire time He described it as: “Starlink is literally magic. It makes no sense.” Now people are actively choosing flights based on whether the plane has Starlink onboard

@MarioNawfal Poor tree ! Baobab wood is generally not good for conventional building because it is soft, fibrous, and spongy. It is structurally weak, making it poor for heavy timber construction.

A man in Africa shared a video of himself cutting down a massive reportedly 1,500-year-old baobab tree so he could use the wood to build his house. Baobabs are often called “the Tree of Life”, some are among the oldest living organisms on Earth. It’s wild to think a tree that’s been standing since before the fall of the Roman Empire is now being turned into building material. On one hand, people need homes. On the other… that’s an irreplaceable piece of natural history. Source: @Bulvarpress

A Bill Gates funded mosquito factory in Medellín, Colombia, produces 40 million mosquitoes weekly for release via drones and bikes. These insects carry a natural bacterium that prevents them from transmitting viruses to humans. By mating with wild populations, they spread this trait. The Medellín factory has produced around 30–40 million Wolbachia-infected Aedes aegypti mosquitoes per week (figures cited in reports from 2022–2025). The mosquitoes are infected with Wolbachia, a naturally occurring bacterium (not genetically modified in the GMO sense). Wolbachia blocks the mosquitoes from transmitting viruses like dengue, Zika, chikungunya, and yellow fever. Mosquitoes are released on foot, by bicycle/motorcycle, and in some areas using drones for hard-to-reach locations.

🇦🇴 🚨 BREAKING: Angola has launched the Cabinda Refinery — the country’s first new refinery in 50 YEARS — and it is now in full commercial operations. Producing diesel for local markets. Exporting naphtha and heavy fuel oil. 30,000 barrels per day and scaling up fast. Cutting expensive imports. Creating real energy independence. Africans refining their own oil, keeping wealth on the continent, and building a stronger future. Proud day for Angola. Proud day for Africa. More refineries. More factories. More sovereignty. Africa is rising!

The first shipment of SA apples arrived in Shenzhen, China on May 1st. Under the zero tariff treatment, the 24 tons of SA apples enjoyed a tariff reduction of around 50,000 Rand. We welcome more products of SA to reach the Chinese market and hope the policy will better benefit our two peoples.

Ethiopia's export exploding from $3 billion to $10 billion thanks to Ethiopia Tamirt. In 2025, Ethiopia launched "Ethiopia Tamirt" initiative (Made in Ethiopia) which was meant to drive production and consumption of Ethiopian made products. The initiative saw over 750 industries entering into manufacturing and attracted massive support from Ethiopians. From the initiative, Ethiopia has saved $4.85 billion in imports and manufacturing sector has grown jumped from 4.8% to 13% in nine months. Meanwhile the drive has also improved Ethiopian exports from $3 billion in 2025 to $10 billion expected by the end of 2026.

🇨🇳🇿🇼China helps Zimbabwe make history: First lithium sulfate produced on African soil 🔶Zimbabwe has shipped its first-ever refined lithium salt — essential for EV batteries, aviation alloys, and space tech. 🔶The breakthrough comes from a new $400 million plant at Arcadia Mine, a joint project between local Prospect Lithium Zimbabwe and China’s Huayou Cobalt. Annual capacity: 50,000 metric tons. 🔶This leap was enabled by Zimbabwe’s 2022 policy banning raw lithium exports to force local value addition. 🔶Chinese firms are moving beyond extraction — building processing infrastructure in resource-rich countries like Zimbabwe and fueling the Global South’s industrial rise.
