@PhilBirdBFC You could stop all this holding in a couple of weeks. Every time a defender wraps their arms around a player at a set piece it’s a penalty. Give a few of those consistently for the first couple of weeks if the season and it would stop almost overnight. Consistency is key!

Why did this never happen? Every set piece in the Premier League is farcical. Excessive, shoving, wrestling and holding. It contributed to Sunday’s farcical conclusion. Referees can penalise even if the ball isn’t in play. Yellow cards will stop further offences.

It’s obvious the players are just feeling sorry for themselves. 2nd best all over the pitch. No hunger no desire no purpose. Confirms one thing, coaching wise we need new ideas and a proper clear out ready for a fresh approach from a new manager. #twitterclarets #Burnleyfc

@logicalclaret Don’t think you can question the players commitment tbf. Just disappointed that performances haven’t been consistent enough. Had we played like city for 70|80 of the season we’d prob view it differently I think we are at least 8points shy for dubious decisions too

While I'm obviously happy about the reports regarding Parker's future from SSN, why now? Why not four months ago to give us a fighting chance of staying up? All these rumours of relegation clauses which make it cheaper to sack him may have been true. If only we had been a little bit more proactive, we may have had a chance.
