The optimistic take is, they're starting to realize it, there are positive signs, new generations demand it, we'll get there eventually. The problem is it's too late; which means we'll likely have to face most of our political systems tipping over the edge of autoritarism first.

Applies to every western democracy, same everywhere. Conservatives move towards the far right, and instead of offering something else, progressives chase them to the center, and eventually the right, losing every time, and accelerating the rise of new fascism in the process.

As long as center/progressive parties' only offering to counter the far right is maintaining the status quo that gets rich people richer and poor people and minorities more miserable; rather than supporting proper progressive alternatives, we'll keep seeing the same outcome.

@MatRopert The fact that their solution to conservatives making immigration the top topic is accepting it and playing on their field and by their rules, absolutely baffling. I understand the influence of money and lobbying, but at some point, don't they want to win?

@konbendith They have no idea how to gather support the minute the economy turn bear and it's been going on since Reagan/Thatcher. 40 years later they still got no answer to the most populist ass "idea" of trickle down tax cuts and blaming the "other".
