PREDICTION: AI will enable homeschooling or co-op schooling. It will print out the day's curriculum in the morning, and entice the kid through it, sensing when she needs breaks, and what breaks might be most enjoyable and educational.

Use these 16 Proven Strategies to Take Control of Your Thoughts, Emotions, and Actions! [4-minute read] The Keys to Self-Regulation: 1. Focus 2. Patience 3. Flexibility 4. Resilience 5. Motivation 6. Persistence 7. Self-control 8. Adaptability 9. Self-esteem 10. Impulse control 11. Mental toughness 12. Deferred judgment 13. Stress management 14. Delayed gratification 15. Frustration Tolerance 16. Emotional Management Self-Regulation is the process of controlling your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. 1. Focus: Practice focusing on one task or goal. Minimize distractions when you can, but also learn to work amid distraction (life). 2. Patience: Practice waiting calmly and without frustration by focusing on the goal and your progress, not the impediments. 3. Flexibility: Practice adapting to change and handling unexpected situations by deliberately putting yourself into situations that require improvisation. 4. Resilience: Practice maintaining a positive outlook in the face of adversity. Feel the feelings, but know that they are temporary. 5. Motivation: Get in touch with your life purpose, meaning, and passion, which are the driving forces that drive you to action. See the MindSkills Playbook for detailed instructions. 6. Persistence: Practice pursuing your goal despite setbacks or obstacles. Know that multiple tries are the norm. Most things aren’t accomplished with the first shot. 7. Self-control: Practice making decisions based on your goals, not your whims. It’s just a matter of practice. Just because you feel it doesn’t mean you have to do it or believe it. 8. Adaptability: Adjust to new circumstances and situations by knowing that unfamiliarity can trigger primitive fear, but you’re an adult and you’ve got this. 9. Self-esteem: Develop a positive sense of self-worth and personal value by keeping your promises to yourself (trust), and knowing that you can count on yourself to try your best under all circumstances. 10. Impulse control: Practice resisting impulses and whims. Make deliberate decisions by practicing thinking first (but don’t overthink to the point of procrastination). 11. Mental toughness: Maintain focus, composure, and determination in the face of stress and adversity by staying in conscious control, no matter what emotional storms are raging. 12. Deferred judgment: Practice holding off decision-making until enough information is available. Avoid hasty generalization and oversimplification. Learn to say, “I don’t have enough info for an opinion or decision.” 13. Stress management: Learn to cope with and manage stress. Learn hypnosis, meditation, and other stress reduction tools (but not pills or alcohol). 14. Delayed gratification: Practice resisting immediate pleasure or reward by focusing on the greater goal. 15. Frustration tolerance: The ability to handle frustration and disappointment without becoming overly upset is a Superpower that comes with practice. Focus on removing the obstacle, not on your inability to deal with it (which is temporary). 16. Emotional Management: Practice understanding and regulating your emotions by following the recommendations in my MindSkills Playbook. Basically, don’t suppress it. Instead, get curious, and ask the emotion what it’s trying to tell you and what part of your younger self it’s trying to protect. (More in the Playbook) *********************** Note: If you agree that this Tweeeet is important to share, please REPLY (even if it’s one word!) in addition to liking or retweeting.
