Over the last week I have been in conversations with OpenSea regarding suspected suspicious activity of @OnChainAllStars token #7620. This started on 5th Aug. The token was listed for sale but was impossible to buy. As you might expect, the reaction to this was that the bots/flippers started to list under the 'stuck' token #7620. We witnessed this happen 3 times over the coming days. Memes were created for #7620. However, some of the community felt something more sinister might be at play, and it seems they may have been right. Through their investigation, blockchain activity, and the timeline of certain events, an OpenSea engineer concluded that they believe this was a malicious attack to have a negative effect on the floor price of On-Chain All-Stars. It is suspected the attacker used a sophisticated proxy contract to control the wallet and create orders that didn't meet the necessary qualifications to clear, and was likely designed to brick the floor. It is so far not possible to prove with 100% certainty that it was an intentional attack, that is conjecture. But the engineer felt this is extremely likely. Also stating that this was something they hadn't really seen before and quite rare. So, big thanks to OpenSea for their support on this. OS have since blocked the account from any further activity and have asked us to remain vigilant to ensure if anything like this is spotted again we report it asap so they can take action. As OS said, it is very difficult to give an absolute 100% certain call on this for a number of reasons. But based on what we can see on the blockchain side, it all tends to point in that direction. All of the information below is publicly available on the Ethereum blockchain: Timeline of initial events on 5th Aug and we believe is occurring: 2:23 AM - Proxy contract created (0x841957c52f63901eB54654685e5ACd697C43AB11) 4:57 AM - Wallet 0x122a744F17AAFBA797C15121917b3FAEE53F7E16 is initially funded by 0xdef38D22BBB8e8AA5bD6F45326986Fdf6278dDaA 4:59 AM - EIP-7702 authorisation, delegating control of the wallet to the contract created earlier (hash 0x33034a603ed989266fbe8f9167aca07856f959402c1befeeea503dad2703c361) 5:03 AM - Token #7620 purchased 0.042 (4 minutes after delegation) 5:04 AM - Token #7620 listed for sale 0.035 (1 minute after purchase) Once the token was listed it was impossible to buy. This activity completely stalled OCAS upwards momentum. We then saw two more listing over the coming days at 0.02 and 0.015, which as you can probably imagine just pulled the floor price down each time. The suspicion is that the contract may have been creating the listings via OpenSea API that may have had conditions added to the signature to prevent sales actually happening. If true, we can't speculate who might have wanted to do this. However, looking at the info we have available, it seems something suspicious may have taken place to try and stop the momentum of On-Chain All-Stars. It's very sad and frustrating to think someone may have done this intentionally to keep OCAS down. Thank you all for the support. The community has been amazing. We very much hope OCAS can bounce back but felt the need to provide as much transparency as possible about this information gathered. If anyone else is able to dig any deeper forensically to prove this one way or the other, please feel free to do so. We would be interested to hear any other findings or opinions. We are trying to maintain an open mind on this but felt that we should share the information that we have. We're just two dudes that have released a collection that we're very proud of that we thought could compete with other notable collections. Hopefully we still can! The good news is that we have the OpenSea Support now ready to respond should anyone attempt this again. 8 & Eto @0x8BitArt @EtoVass
