He described life as moving through stages: learning, earning enough to establish yourself, and eventually giving back to others: “The challenge now is supporting other people and their dreams, and I believe Daou can definitely achieve it.” ~ I think about this a lot, and even more so lately. What if there were a world where Daou and Offroad had their own label? A place where they are treated with respect as artists and supported not with the bare minimum, but with genuine care and intention. I don’t know what happens behind the scenes, and I know fans only see a very small part of the picture. But as a fan, it sometimes feels like we’re constantly asking for things that should already be standard: schedules posted accurately, correct hashtags announced before events, photos and videos shared while events are happening instead of after they’re over, clear communication, openness to feedback, and a willingness to improve. Maybe there are reasons we don’t know. Maybe there are limitations we can’t see. But when I hear Daou talk about wanting to support other artists one day, I can’t help imagining what a company built around that mindset would look like. A place where artists are cared for thoughtfully. A place where their work is promoted with intention. A place where communication, respect, and support aren’t treated as extras, but as the foundation. Maybe that’s why this dream of his stays with me. Because when I look at Daou and Offroad, I see two people who pour so much care into their work and into the people around them. They have such incredible talent. I just hope they continue to receive that same level of care in return.
