Still talking about #BTS_ARİRANG I’ve honestly been unable to move on from Like Animals. In my first play throughs, I loved it because of the edgier, rock sound to it. But it’s grown so much more than that. I am a person working really hard to allow myself to live, to be free, when I constantly feel like walls are closing around me. Health of my loved ones, my mental health, my physical health, my OCD and medicinal journey… I trust myself less than I trust nearly anyone else. I’ve been working so very hard to maintain this control - to be what I should be and act how I should act - while feeling like I’m caged in my own brain. “Do speak, I’m begging you, please, there’s beauty outside control”. Every line of this song hits me but this one feels so personal. It’s hard for me to see beauty outside of the control. Losing it feels like diving into a dark abyss. But I don’t want to be tamed by societal standards nor by my own crippling expectations. I want to live. LIVE. I want freedom of mind and heart. And this song will forever be a key to unlock the cage for me. To follow further, “so what, you’re shadows a mess? I’m walking with my own dirt” gives me such a tremendous feeling of comfort. Not just from BTS, but certainly by BTS. It’s okay for us to live. It’s okay for me to live. There is acceptance in that fear. There are hands to hold as I walk into the unknown. And that’s beautiful.
