@GraceOnFootball Do think this obscure the fact that there were several injuries and that we had played almost all of the ‘top’ sides during this period.

in fairness to jesse marsch, they were really quite bad in the months before bielsa was sacked, with better players

@Zonal_Marking Would scrum caps (or similar) alleviate this problem? Would obviously need to be a bespoke design to allow for control of the ball.

I expected the number of headed clearances in the Premier League to be up a little because of the focus on long throws. But the transformation in the lower leagues is incredible.

In 2021 the FA gave guidance on the maximum number of headers players should do in training. Since then, headed clearances are up 50% in the PL, and up 100% in L2. If football is serious about the long-term impact of heading, it should be very concerned. nytimes.com/athletic/70358…

Are we having: “sent the keeper the right way” for a penalty save? Commentator on talk sport just now during the Newcastle penalty shootout. @FootballCliches

@andy_delaney It’s also hardly not like we have absolutely loads of attacking threat either. Felt like it was an obvious thing for you to try to match us up today.

@andy_delaney They have time on the ball in their own half. As soon as they get near the edge of the box, there’s 2 banks of 5 and nowhere to go. There’s so much space in the video you’ve shared!
