Got to try a 5-piece sampler from @milkmade: incredible depth + creativity of flavor/creaminess, even chocolate! Get on that subscription!

Chuko (552 Vanderbilt, BK): A. The crispy, fatty kale salad and salty, fatty vegetarian ramen are no joke, all umami.

Han Dynasty (12/3rd): A. Utterly satisfying Szechuan--anything in chili oil with whole peppercorns and a side of cold beer will be perfect.

Then went to SF for treats from @RavenswoodWine, @tartinebakery, @smugglerscovesf and had breakfast @missionpie everyday.

Went to LA and had the most amazing food at @ThePieHoleLA, @EggSlutLA, @guisados, @SunnyBlueSM

Tulsi (46/3rd): B+. One of the creamiest, delicate gobi manchurians I've tasted; comes at the expense of stuffy, too old-fashioned service

Gobo (8th/6th Ave): A. Surprisingly classy, underappreciated vegan with a rich, Asian-inspired flair and awesomely creative juices.

Osteria Morini (Spring/Lafayette): B. Huge mistake to come at brunch hour--atmosphere/service off with onlly moderately good homemade pasta

Jin Ramen (125th/Bway): A. 5pm + winter=best shot to get perfectly warm, comforting, garlicky ramen uptown that rivals Ippudo's with no wait

Ngam (13/3rd): A. Neighborhood Thai stepped up to the next level with new vegetables, new presentations, more fun. Zucchini noodles, kale!

The Third Man (7th/Ave C): Sip your Harry Lime & mull your life with zither music, black + white movies, gorgeously European wooden seating.

Mission Cantina (Orchard/Stanton): A++. Colorful Mexican banners, hipstered-out service, best burritos around--a true taste of SF's Mission.

La Superior (Berry/S 2nd): A. Neon lights, simple menu, no substitutions. Like getting margaritas + tacos in LA instead of NYC.

Paulie Gee's (Greenpoint/West): A++. Paulie is awesome; the beautifully charred/chewy crust + tendency for sweet/salty pies doesn't hurt.

The Wayland (9th/Ave C): The sour cherry flip and any variant they have is worth the trek. Cheerful candlelit ambiance just helps.

Balthazar (Spring/Crosby): A. Richly French menu + elegant service made this an NYC classic. Get the cranberry loaf to go from the bakery.

Saxon and Parole (Bowery/Bleecker): A++. Excellent brunch w comfortably sleek riding details, Bloody Mary bar, warm beignets, perfect eggs.
