Celeste Rivas Hernandez was last seen on April 23, 2025, when David Burke invited her over to his house after an argument in which she made threats to expose their relationship. David ordered Celeste an Uber from her home in Lake Elsinore to his home in Hollywood Hills. 20 minutes after the vehicle arrived, David allegedly sent Celeste text messages asking where she was. Prosecutors believe these messages were a plan to cover up the murder and that she was already dead by the time they were sent. David Burke is accused of setting up an inflatable pool in his garage to catch Celeste’s blood as he dismembered her with ‘a chainsaw and perhaps other tools’. In the process, he tore plastic fragments from the pool which was later found mixed with her remains. Prosecutors allege he removed two of her fingers because they showed his name. They were never recovered. No telling where he stashed the fingers. Only he knows the answer to that one. 🫠 David Burke first met Celeste when she was 11 and allegedly began molesting her in November 2023, when she was 13 and he was 18. The following February, her parents called police and took her phone away. David allegedly pay a high school kid $1000 to bring her a new phone. Celeste spent a ton of time with David in 2024.
