Ok, yanks, listen up. For the last time now.....  No one likes him here in Ireland (or 'Ahhhland' as he calls it) Fact.  (Ps... there will be people on here who  will say that they like him, but you'll find mostly that they'll be too embarrassed to use their real identity)

Public order units on standby, double-lined metal barriers and a helicopter - gardaí prepped themselves for a surge of protesters outside the Dáil this afternoon, but their show of force ultimately outweighed the size of the crowd jrnl.ie/7012879

O’Callaghan made the Gardai the Public Enemy & Brought Shame on their Families O’Callaghan has transformed the Gardaí from a public service into an instrument of intimidation against the very citizens they are meant to protect. His handling of the fuel protests represents a profound failure of leadership, marked by aggression, deflection, and a disregard for the legitimate concerns of ordinary people. Families of Gardaí are angry and disgusted by the stigma O’Callaghan put on their families —and rightly so. O’Callaghan’s actions didn’t just isolate a force; they cast a shadow over entire families who already carry the strain of a demanding and often dangerous job. These are people who live with the risks, the long hours, and the constant pressure. To have that met with sweeping stigma feels like a slap in the face. Morale is already at rock bottom, and this only makes it worse. Recruitment is struggling, experienced Gardaí are leaving, and fewer people are willing to step into a role that now seems thankless and publicly targeted. When leadership fuels negativity instead of balance, it deepens the crisis. Policing doesn’t work without public support. If Gardaí are treated like the enemy, the job becomes harder, slower, and less effective. Respect and cooperation aren’t optional—they’re essential. Right now, many Gardaí feel demoralised and unsupported. It’s hard to stay motivated when you’re constantly under fire. If trust continues to erode, so will the strength of the force. Most alarmingly, he signalled a willingness to deploy the Army in response to civilian protest—an extraordinary and deeply troubling escalation in a democratic society. Such rhetoric alone was enough to inflame tensions and undermine public trust. Events on the ground further exposed the consequences of this approach. The reported use of pepper spray on a child by a Garda during the demonstrations stands as a stark example of excessive and disproportionate force. Incidents like this do not calm situations—they radicalise them. Rather than seeking to de-escalate, O’Callaghan chose to issue threats. His suggestion that protesters could have their licences revoked and insurance invalidated was not only punitive but vindictive, signalling an intent to crush dissent rather than engage with it. This represents a clear abuse of power and a dangerous precedent. Equally concerning was his attempt to deflect responsibility by blaming an unnamed English far-right activist for the protests. This claim ignored the obvious and widely understood reality: farmers, hauliers, and working people took to the streets because soaring fuel costs are threatening their livelihoods. By dismissing these concerns, he demonstrated either a profound disconnect from reality or a deliberate attempt to mislead. At no point did he take meaningful action to address the root issue—crippling fuel prices and the economic pressure on ordinary citizens. Instead, his actions have deepened divisions, turning public frustration not only against the government but against the Gardaí themselves. In summary, O’Callaghan did not manage this crisis—he intensified it. His rhetoric escalated tensions, his policies alienated the public, and his actions undermined trust in state institutions. For these reasons, his position is no longer tenable. He must resign.

🚨 NEW: Giorgia Meloni hits back after Donald Trump makes explosive remarks about Iran and nuclear war. 🇺🇸 Trump: “She’s the unacceptable one; she doesn’t care if Iran gets a nuclear weapon and blows Italy to bits in two minutes.” 🇮🇹 Meloni: “As far as I know, nine nations possess nuclear weapons, and only one has ever used them. That nation is the United States.” “Mr. Trump needs to tone it down. No one throws around nuclear threats like Washington does, and he should watch his words.” A European leader directly calling out Trump like this - in these terms - is rare.
