@buperac Well I’m about 35 mins west from that yard site. But, it’s one and the same. It’s close enough people hear and then their land is worth the same. Even tho I would consider SOME of that land to be head and shoulders above ours.

It’s time. Monette has filed for protection under the CCAA, the same thing AgraCity did. A letter has gone out from Darrel to try and keep all the wolves at bay. Notice the language use. “Our intention is to keep leases current” There is no guarantee here, I would be nervous as a landlord. “Farming operations continue, including seeding, crop care, and harvest planning” Note they say harvest planning. Not executing harvest, they must have a really short runway. “Lease agreements remain in force and we intend to maintain ongoing operations” Another one here, intend to maintain. They are going to cut out sooner rather than later it seems. They must be putting in minimal inputs to use this verbage. “with the goal of timely payment.” This is for rent obligations, if it were me I wouldn’t expect to get paid. What a goal. Darrel finally tells the landlords to reach out to the management but if he really wanted to put them at ease he would have told them to reach out to him directly. This is bad, very bad. Full letter transcript below. **MONETTE GROUP** *Together we create more* **To: Landowners and Leasing Partners** **From: Management** **Date: April 21, 2026** We are writing to confirm the farm has filed for protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA). This is a court-supervised restructuring process that allows us to continue operating while we stabilize finances and restructure debt. Our priority is to protect the productive capacity of the farm and manage obligations—including land rent—in an orderly, predictable way. This filing is a proactive response to current industry pressures (higher input costs, higher interest rates, and tighter credit) and is not a liquidation. We are working with our advisors and a court-appointed Monitor to develop a restructuring plan for creditor and court approval. CCAA is not bankruptcy or a shutdown. It is a federal restructuring framework with court oversight intended to give a viable business time to develop and implement a plan, while continuing normal operations where possible. We understand that the main question for landowners is how this affects lease performance and rent. Our intention is to keep leases current and to communicate clearly about timing and process. Where any approvals or documentation are required as part of the restructuring, we will explain what is needed and why. * Farming operations continue, including seeding, crop care, and harvest planning. * Lease agreements remain in force and we intend to maintain ongoing operations. * Rent obligations are being actively managed and prioritized within the restructuring process, with the goal of timely payment. * If anything changes that could affect your lease, we will communicate directly and as early as possible. * We will continue to care for the land in accordance with agronomic best practices and the terms of our leases. * For questions about your specific lease, please reach out to your usual management contact. We appreciate your continued partnership and the trust you place in us to farm your land responsibly. We will provide updates as the process progresses. If you have questions, please contact management directly. [Signature] **Darrel Monette** **President - Monette Farms Ltd.**

@buperac Some of the, less desired farming areas I’m sure there could be some deals but the higher soil classes and consistent growing areas will be mental. If Kamsack went to auction, there will be records broken 📈

@kowski_farms This might work out better, the bank is going to auction it all off out of season, so anyone who saved their nickels might make out alright with this one.

Good morning. Three by-elections in Liberal strongholds isn't a majority when all three had the Conservatives stay home because why would you waste time voting when it's a done deal. Media said yesterday he has a majority, but it wasn't because of the 5 floor crossers—it was the 3 Liberal empty seats voting Liberal again. See how the media tells idiots and idiots believe. We're stuck with Liberals thanks to Jag destroying the NDP, crazy Lizzy being herself, and the Bloc voting with the Liberals for nothing. The East is so blind. We are not the same in Canada. Quebec is weak and holds Canada hostage. Why would you leave with that advantage? But When the West got strong and will really want out, the East will say we can't go. Even when we win to leave, the East will invoke the Emergency Act and crush our chances. Canada is done as a united country. Can you imagine the shit show the USA would be if Kamala would have won? We're living that nightmare with Carney. Have a great day. It's a two day pick because that's all we can do is watch the wreck.

@lukelelond 283 X9s at a mil each just sitting there? That's wild. Equipment buildup like that usually means cash flow pressure somewhere in the chain.

From the road so far, this is one of the better winter wheat fields. Lots look like they are getting grazed or sprayed with Roundup. Never seen so many cattle eating wheat. One or two great fields, and one big one was irrigated—wow, with water, rains, and heat. Now a lot needed the rain a few weeks ago as damage was done. Did see winter canola; it looked interesting in Oklahoma.

@kowalchukfarms1 Having a business fast tracks the Pr process i believe. But then it’s just an instant way to sponsor new visas back home as well.
