I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback - and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I'll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump's DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1. I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I'm certain he will Save America.

@MeghanMcCain I registered as GOP in 1983. I voted for your father. I left the GOP Jan 6 2021. And I sleep well at night knowing I am not a part of a party that is slowly dying. It’s ok to leave something that doesn’t exist anymore.

I greatly respect the wide variety of political opinions of all of my family members and love them all very much. I however, remain a proud member of the Republican Party and hope for brighter days ahead. (Not voting for Harris or Trump, hope that clears things up). ♥️🇺🇸

@lisa_liberal I have lake house in Carter county. Took my dog for a walk today. 6 houses. 3 KH signs and 1 Trump. I was shocked.

I just drove through Sallisaw, Oklahoma, and there has always been a lot of Trump merchandise everywhere. Now there’s a STUPID amount of Trump crap. It’s really disheartening to live here being a blue dot. I hope my fellow Okies in Tulsa and OK help us all out here.
