Thank you @BNSS for 19 years of incredible experiences and memories. A pleasure to work with so many terrific students and colleagues and thankful for the opportunities to contribute the school community over the years. I will definitely come back to visit!

@sweat_nancy @ToddWhitaker @ULLCSCHOOLS @DrJhodge1906 @patwleary My principal is really great at finding ways to make us all better. I feel really fortunate.

Not a new read (2011 & 2020) but Chapter 2 still hits: “It’s the people, not programs. A school’s degree of excellence is perceived from the quality of its teachers. Administrators have two choices: hire new teachers or improve the current ones.” 🔥 @ToddWhitaker

I'm excited about the Tears For Fears - Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC - Mon, Jul 24. Who's in? ticketmaster.ca/tears-for-fear…

@MisterCavey @realrapreynolds Saying “good morning” is also what every other human we interact with needs. We should not treat students differently than the other humans in the building.
English

Simply acknowledging a student by saying “Hello,” “Goodbye,” or “I’m glad to see you” can be more than that kid is getting anywhere else.
It also might be all that student wants.

@TeachersOnFire It really depends - if it is a good controversial question connected to the topic, or a shared problem to try to solve together, then it is so interesting to learn from others, but if it is some kind of ice breaker for the sake of ice breakers I don't enjoy those.

@mshoneybest A one word answer also does not meet the expectations created by asking for them to analyze either.
English

@mshoneybest Well a single word is not a discussion, you asked them to discuss, so I would say that the one word answer is just beginning to demonstrate an understanding, not fully proficient but emerging

Love this. It is true anywhere where humans are working together I think. And in teaching, the “cohesion” “camaraderie” parts can be hard to achieve because we are separated into classrooms.

@MisterCavey @DRSmithauthor Parents need to keep this in mind too. I remember when my sons were in 7th grade how over scheduled they were, I ran around like an overworked sled dog driving them from one sporting event to the other. They loved it, but it came at a cost. I was responsible for that.
English

@DRSmithauthor As educators, fatigue is a lived reality for much of the school year.
It's good to be reminded of the student experience, too. Life isn't easy for many of our young learners.

Awesome treat from some of my students while we are at Best of the West Volleyball tournament - feeling so appreciated:) @Vancs1949

@TeachersOnFire I was given the template before hand, loved thetransparency, but I put myself under pressure to hit everything on the checklist. I was affected by the checklist, whereas a list of principles of good practice may have been more helpful and my lesson more authentic.

@deanmanz So sorry for your loss, words are so inadequate, but I am truly sorry for you and your family.
