A Google dev: "for some things there are better tools than @FlutterDev"
Community trolls: <weird screeches>

@doctorow Being a long time crusader for a lot of these third party solutions, the scene is so much different now largely because these companies are openly hostile toward any reverse engineering attempts of their proprietary apps. They will ban any users caught with them and sue the devs.

@aloisdeniel @OrestesGaolin There are many things that are not directly visible to users, but matter for the product.
English

@OrestesGaolin Native means different things for different people and has always been a hot topic! 😅
In the ends what matters is if product is delivered with a good user experience, what happens behind the scenes does not matter to users.

I'm nitpicking but for years Android developers would avoid calling Flutter apps native, but Compose for iOS is now >native<.
Jim Sproch@JimSproch
@and_sidorchuk Being native has nothing to do with which team wrote the code nor with which intermediate libraries (eg. Skia) a call happens to pass through, ultimately draws to same graphics layer as Apple's iOS code). "Native" refers to how code plays with platform: x.com/JimSproch/stat…

I satirized this idea a few years ago when ChatGPT first came out. The reason it's "cheating" is because unless you learn the facts and skills, technology will always be a crutch.
Imagine not knowing how to multiply or add numbers or how to spell correctly.
Imagine a physicist not knowing how to compute a derivative without Mathematica.
Imagine your physician searching "shortness of breath WebMD". Or trying to date someone while feeding everything through Google Translate.
Imagine your surgeon whipping out chatgpt in the middle of your operation.
There's a reason why we teach students to compute limits the hard way before giving them L'Hopital's rule.
The whole point of learning things is so *you* know them. When you learn something, it becomes yours. Relinquishing your agency and thought is not just pathetic, it's saying that you will always be nothing.
There is nothing wrong with not knowing something. Just stop worshipping your own ignorance.

@entropy_bug @vxunderground The solution isn't to let everybody pay no taxes, but to make the corps pay their share

April 11th, 2025, Waylon Wilcox of Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, United States, plead guilty to two (2) counts of filing false individual income tax returns to the United States Internal Revenue Service.
Mr. Wilcox lied to the United States Internal Revenue Service regarding his profit from non-fungible tokens (NFTs).
Mr. Wilcox answered "no" to the United States Internal Revenue Service when asked: “At any time in 2021, did you receive, sell, exchange, or otherwise dispose of financial interest in any virtual currency?” (and any and/or all relevant questions in 2022)*
Mr. Wilcox in actuality collected 97 of 10,000 unique characters of CryptoPunks NFTs* (corrected, edit). He under-reported $8,511,238 in 2021 and $4,599,532 in 2022 in income — far beyond his actual income.
This was in sharp contrast to his (now private) social media which displayed luxurious travels.
Mr. Wilcox owes the United States Internal Revenue Service approx. $3,200,000. He is also facing 6 years in prison.
tl;dr guy makes millions from nfts, clicks "no" on checkbox to tax collection on monies, lies and says doesnt have a lot of monies, doesnt launder money and has millions, the us gov was like "lolwtf how this guy spending so much but says hes broke", looks inside, sees nft monies
