What's a book you'd have loved to have seen adapted but you don't think ever will be? Mine is The Secret History. It was very much of its time; there's no way they could make it work now.

Hacking hacked everything from web apps to supercars as a pentester over the course of a decade, I had never had a paid bounty. July 2025 I set myself a small target to get a single paid bounty with a small target of just $100. Finished 2025 and smashed that target! 🕺🎉🍻

@Alrightpunk I wonder if this is one of those things that come down to age group. Buffy was clearly impactful in the 12-21 age range at the time, X-files seemed to impact above that.

X-Files created fandom and shipping as we know it today, while TV Tropes began life as a Buffy website. They both had an enormous impact on our culture.

@Alrightpunk There is a huge crossover between various diagnosis in neurodivergence, ASC etc. ADHD for example; of the normally used 9 diagnostic criteria the average member of the public will have a random mix of 3-4 of them, 6+ are needed to meet the criteria for ADHD.

I've already hypothesised he's dyslexic and has side effects from his injuries; this is an even better fit.

Reading a book about ADHD and learning how people with the condition can be impulsive, have problems with money, lasting relationships and addiction - but also they're creative mavericks who excel in their chosen fields. It couldn't help but remind me of a certain someone.
