My book, Things of the Past: A Modern Yearning, is now available for free download from CUP, until November 13. It offers a short history of our longing for historical artefacts, discussing Asia, Africa, Europe, South- and North America. Please share! cambridge.org/core/elements/…

@Fire20229 Thank you for your interest and, yes, plenty. Starting on page 14. Summary of Section 3, focusing on Colombia, here: x.com/MissDislexia/s…

Why do we hold on to things of the past? Napoleon’s hat for example. I offer some thoughts for the delightfully odd CANOA project and its ‘enciclopEdia arbitraria’.

I can certainly not complain about lacking reception of my book, Modern Historiography in the Making, which came out in 2022. 10 reviews, that I know of, have now been published. The latest one is a 'review article', which also discusses some of the other reviews. @BloomsburyHist

My review essay on @kreskildsen's great 'Modern Historiography in the Making' has just been published as pre-print by @Global_IH. Historicism, Enlightenment, and ‘the Two Eyes of Wisdom’ tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…
